Sunday: American Chop Suey 1 box of pasta cost $1.00, 1 26.5 oz Can of Hunts tomato sauce in a can cost $1.00, 1 lb of ground turkey or ground beef cost $2.50, 4 oz of fresh Parmesan cheese $1.25, Boil pasta and drain, cook and drain ground turkey, add tomato sauce and pasta to cooked ground turkey and heat through serve topped lightly with Parmesan cheese. Tuesday: Stuff Pork Cutlets- 1- 1 ¼ lbs of thin sliced boneless pork cutlets costs $2.49. ½ box of store brand stove top stuffing mix cost $1.00. Mix stuffing according to directions then stuff and roll individual cutlets. Place in shallow pan cover top with aluminum foil. Bake for ½ hour at 350 degrees. Remove from oven top with one can of pork or chicken gravy cost $1.00 and bake for 10 more minutes. Heat one 1lb bag of frozen green beans cost $1.00. Serve with one can of chilled cranberry sauce cost 1.25 and the remaining stove top stuffing. Total Cost $6.74

In a large pot heat 1 can of cream of chicken soup cost $1.25, make to the directions on the can, add in cooked chicken and 1 1lb bag of frozen mixed peas and carrots and simmer. Wash and tear ½ head of iceberg lettuce or 1 head of Romaine, cost $.75 cents, wash 1 medium tomato cost $.65, wash and peel ½ of cucumber cost $.40 cents, wash and shred 1 carrot cost $.15 cents. Thursday: Mom’s Easy Meat Loaf and Mashed Potatoes- Place 1 lb -1 ¼ pound of ground beef in a mixing bowl. I try to get the 90% lean when on sale but 85% lean is fine, cost $2.75. Add ½ cup of flavored bread crumbs cost $.25. Peel dice and sauté ¼ onion and add to ground beef. Add 1 tsp of yellow mustard cost .05 cents, 3 TBS of Ketchup cost $.15 cents and mix well in a bowl. Place mixture in a loaf pan, shape and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Take out of oven and drain and remove grease. Pour 1 can of beef gravy cost $1.00 on top of meatloaf and bake for 10 more minutes Mashed potatoes 6-8 medium potatoes cost $1.50. Wash and peel the potatoes then slice into quarters and boil in a large pot until tender drain and rinse. Put potatoes back in pot and mash with potato masher add ¼ cup or so of milk cost $.05 and 3 TBS of butter cost $.40 heat on low heat until warm. Wash and tear ½ head of iceberg lettuce or 1 head of Romaine, cost $.75 cents, wash 1 medium tomato cost $.65, wash and peel ½ of cucumber cost $.40 cents, wash and shred 1 carrot cost $.15 cents. Toss lettuce, tomato, cucumber and shredded carrot in a large bowl serve plain or with you favorite dressing cost $.50 cents. Total Cost $8.80.
