In the first place, I think not many people would have heard of the chemex coffee maker, it is a brand that is not easy to find either online or even in the retail stores. Sure, this is not the most popular brand around.

On the popularity department, the brands would probably be Bunn, Braun, Mr Coffee, Senseo and the likes. Chemex is more of the old school coffee makers. It belongs to the same family as the bodum coffee maker.

These are all manual coffee makers, they do not need to use any electricity and there are some manual work involved. That is the reason, given the automation that everyone is looking for in society, it is small wonder that not many people heard about the chemex coffee maker.

So, if this is such a manual type of coffee maker, why should you be bother with it? Well, in the next 2 portion, you would learn about the beauty of chemex and also if you would to work out your costing, this is the brewer that can give you a better deal.

At the time of this article, the world is feeling the heat from the financial crisis and mass retrenchment, nobody is sure about the future, therefore if you are able to have some savings, wouldn't that be great?

The beauty of the chemex coffee maker

Although, I am someone that would buy a coffee maker simply because it looks good, I would not suggest that you buy the chemex because it is good looking. To start with, it is quite normal looking.   The beauty of this manual coffee maker is ironically in its ease of use. Anyone would have thought that by not being automatic, it should be a brewer that is difficult to use and involves many steps.  But, this is not so for this appliance. All you need to do is to scoop in the coffee blend of your choice, add in the water, wait for the coffee to drip through then the coffee.   The ease of using it is only one of the plus point, personally, I find that its other greater value add is really the ease of cleaning.   Imagine, no parts to take out, no electrical components to worry about, no labels to read which part is dish washer safe. All you need to do for this brewer, is to throw away the filter paper, rinse it with running water, and then with some soapy water, dry and then keep it away.   I think cleaning coffee maker is one major reason why many people shy away from brewing their own coffee at home and with this brewer just taking less than 5 minutes, I think there might be some people willing to try it.  Can you imagine the cost savings between brewing it at home and having it at starbucks?  How about the quality of the coffee from this brewer? Many people feedback that the quality is no different from those automatic drip filter machine, I beg to differ. I think the quality from the chemex coffee maker is so much better!  Because, this brewer is cleaned and washed everytime it is being used, there is no residual oil or any particular to give foul smell to the coffee brewed. How many times would you wash your coffee machines? Therefore, by being better maintained, I think the coffee from this brewer would be so much better.

I think it is a better deal!

I mentioned some savings, so where is the savings going to come from? Well, think about how expensive is your electricity bill and then think about your cooking gas, which is cheaper?

You would agree with me that the latter is lower cost. By not using electricity, not only are you being more environmentally friendly, you are helping yourself by lowering the cost of your household expenses.

Of course, to start with this brewer would be so much cheaper than your coffee machines. So, you would save some money on the appliances then you would save money again on the daily operation.

And if you would to compare it to drinking it from the coffee shops, the savings is even more! Most coffee drinkers would not prepare it at home, simply because they are lazy.

They are bother with the so many steps to prepare the coffee and hate the many steps to clean the coffee machines.

Chemex does not have any of these problems, it is easy to use and simple to clean. This is a cost efficient, easy to use and simple to clean brewer, don't you think this is a good deal?

I didn't know that a manual coffee maker could be easier than an automatic one. It's cheap alright. Maybe Chemex is something I'll check out.
