Encouraging hobbies helps children with organizational skills, time management, value, quality and quanity skills, creates the mind and keeps them busy with something other than television, video games, which I am not saying is bad, but the old saying to much of a good thing is bad.

Hobbies help the mind be creative and encourages them to take care of their belongings. This also helps mom when kids care about their stuff then children keep their stuff organized and well kept.

Children love to do stuff with their hands. They love to be creative. They love to put stuff around the house so they can show off what they have done.

Make sure you have lots of materials to keep them busy. A good list of supplies to have on hand would be as follows:

5. paper
6. poster boards
7. magnets
8. construction paper
9. scissors
10. felt material
11. glitter

Always, make sure children are supervised during craft sessions. Especially if the children are small or immature. Always supervise scissors, if available make sure they have the children type scissors. Make sure the supplies are non-toxic. And protect their workspace due to damages that may occur to your furniture or floor.
