Gain Self Confidence in your beach wedding dress
55
Every little girl dreams of that fairytale ending...that happily ever after...with prince charming by her side off course...but let's face it on the other side of that happy fantasy is the dark and insecure one of the groom not showing up at all , years from now you could see this as a blessing in disguise. But nothing is as irepariable as the maid of honor or one of the bridesmaids looking like the bride instead of you on your wedding day.
Don't let this happen to you.It is your special day,and no one, not even your best friend maid of honor is allowed to outshine you on this special day.
As the lady of the day you have the power during planning stages to ensure that all members in your wedding cast are appropriately dressed and donot end up outshining you.
Think of this as 'destination beach wedding dress' action plan.It is after all a journey indeed. Before you walk down the ceremonial aisle you need a carefully crafted plan that will enable you to express a statement of your personal style but is also to ensure that you fit and feel comfortable and confident in your dress too.
Get Moving...
...AND YOU WILL FIT INTO YOUR DRESS
When we look at ourselves in the mirror we tend not to see our true beautiful selves but instead we see that exaggerated media perception of anti beauty. We are supposedly either too big or too small there is no in between, which is we need to draw the line.
That the image of perfection portrayed in the media is so incredibly unrealistic that its unreal to take seriously anymore, after all, us real woman don't have a live photoshop to airbrush away love handles and change cup size at will if we don't like what we see in the mirror.
You don't have to feel pressured into gaining or losing half your body weight before the wedding day, you already have the enormous task of planning your wedding.
All you need to is feel confident and comfortable when you have all eyes on you at the beach wedding.
Ever since I was little I loved weddings, I loved how much attention the bride got on her day and I longed for my special day.I was not about to let my stretch marked and yes flabby at the time arms keep me from my beach wedding dress. So here is how what I did,
I got moving the day the day I got that engagement ring on my finger.I knew that I didn't want to have any anxiety attacks or gullit trips the week before the wedding then end up on a week long crash diet and tight body suite on the wedding day.
I wanted to start early so that I could start a moderate eating plan and not deprive myself of any joys since I do love my food. I also had sufficient time to exercise and firm up my flabby arms. I chose to goin the local gym for a 3-4 times a week 40 minute session of basic cardio exercise like cycling walking on the treadmill and a few weight machines for toning.
In addition I made simple lifestyle changes which you too could implement.
- taking the stairs rather than the elevator
- get off two train or bus stops earlier and walk the rest of the way or alternatively reduce your carbon foorprint and cycle instead of drive.
- Spring cleaning, you may have to move house anyway, why not burn those unwanted calories this way you will really be getting the junk out of the trunk.
- embark on at least 3-4 days of 40 mins exercise like a brisk walk around the block or a stroll in the park.
- Drink plenty of water to keep hydrated.Diet Soda does not count as water
I choose to stick to a low carb diet since eating bread really is my weak point. I would advise you to consult your dietician or physician before emabarking on drastic diet plan, depending on your health condition eg if your are diabetic.
To stay on the safe side moderation is the key to success. As I did start the day off on a healthy breakfast to kick start the day.My favorite is usually bowl of oats and cup of coffee followed by my 10am snack of either an orange or yogurt. This was followed by lunch a low carb meal like grilled chicken breast and a salad.A snack around 3pm followed by dinner of a soup and a salad.I didn't deprive myself of treats but I also didn't overindulge, within a few weeks into my plan, I was so focused don the big day that I didn't even crave cookies or chocolate anymore.
The lesson here for you is not to copy my meal plan but not to skip meals.Instead of 3 large meals have smaller portions complimented by snacking in between on healthy options like fruit.
Don't deprive yourself, but if you do indulge then get up and go work it out in a brisk walk.
The key is to staying focused.Picture your self in your dress and you will stay motivated until you do fit into it like a glove to a hand.I am very proud to say that I lost a total of 12lbs in the 10 moths before my wedding day.It may seem little but , it gave me confidence I didn't even know I had.Best of all was that I didn't even feel like I was on a 'diet'...and I thought my arms looked fantastic.
Now go get that dress
Once you've got your lifestyle plan in check you will feel more confident tyring on different styles of beach wedding dress. The options are limitless, though keep in mind that being outside you will have mother nature to contend with i.e wind, temperature and other external factors.
Being outside means that beach weddings have much less pomp and ceremony than traditional ones.
The same goes for your beach wedding dress. You can be as casual and carefree as the sea breeze, not to mention sea sand.
Consider the length of your dress carefully.
You don't want to drag along sand and some shells in your dress, unless off course you have a surface over the sand to walk on.If you prefer keeping your legs to yourself then opt for a length that is just short of your ankles, this way you wont drag along any unsuspecting crustaceans and you can show off your perfectly pedicured feet.
Taking the wind into consideration, you also don't want to have the dress blow up to your face. Consider choosing a style that is more streamlined rather than the princess style gown. You may also not wnat to be disturbed by a blowing veil while you say I do.
