Few tips to improve your hub and hubber score

I started my journey of hubpages on 28^th September, 2007 and now my profile shows that I joined hub pages twelve months ago. I have created a total of seventy five hubs covering different topics as evident from my profile page. Now I have slowed my pace and publishing not more than a hub in a week. I have realized that its better to focus on quality than quantity. But don't get carried away by this statement. Sometimes it also pays to be quantitative rather being qualititative in approach. Some of my hubs are attracting a fairly good number of visitors and some have occasional visitors. So I try to enrich the content of poor performing hubs. My policy have paid also. Within twelve months periods number of hub views has already crossed ninety thousands mark. Search engines like google, msn, yahoo and aol etc. have been instrumental in sending visitors from world over.

Dear fellow hubbers, quality is always better than quantity. I do agree with this statement. However, my own experience says that new hubbers should give more weightage to quantity than quality in their earlier days. Why?

There are no thumb rules for getting success at hubpages or any other site where traffic is prime concern for being successful or earning more money with writings. First objective of a new hubber should be to bring more traffic to the site by popularizing his/her site or the hubber itself. I am citing here my own example. I published few good quality hubs in the begining. These hubs attracted good traffic in the begining and later on traffic decreased. To maintain the staedy flow of the traffic, I published new hubs frequently. This helped me maintain flow of the traffic to my hubs. You can see from illustration shown here that traffic increases gradually with the addition of new hubs. However, there is no substitute for the quality as evident from the traffic history for six months. Even though I have reduced the number of new hubs considerably but I have always tried to improve my poor performing hubs. Now I have a static traffic of about 500 visitors daily to my hubs.

I have learnt many things in the last ten months that I would like to share with hubbers who are not much experienced and may learn few things to improve their hub score and also revenue from hubs.

1. Create hubs using your knowledge and experiences

2. Try to research the topic well but don't copy material from the net.

3. Write in simple language

4. Keep the hub unpublished for sometime and keep it revising.(If you publish your hub immediately, your hub score will decline in the begining and pick up later on with increase in traffic)

5. Change your title and see its effect on traffic. You will notice that traffic will either increase or decrease with each and every change. Select appropriate title by observing the traffic flow.

6. Create blogs on other sites providing links to your hubs on hubpages

7.Update your hubs regularly and keep changing tags and sometime title also but it should always match content of the text. While selecting tags, its better to take a clue from Google Suggest. It provide you phrases related to your tag those were searched by visitors in the search box. Select the phrase that was input in the search box by maximum number of people. However, take care in selection of phrase. It should not be irrelevant to your hub content.

8. If you have accounts with Yahoo, Myspace and AOL etc. provide a list of your hubs with link at your page. Submission to MSN is also useful.

9. Whether your intention is to earn money or not but associate yourself with google adsense

10. Try other social networking sites and bookmark your hubs with these sites. Digg.com is a good social bookmark site and all hubbers should submit their story to this site. Mixx.com is a site that starts immediately sending visitors if you have submitted your story in a style.

11. Always add news items with your hubs and try to add all capsules including photo, video, links, News , revenue capsules. News feed from yahoo may help you attracting some visitors from yahoo search engines

12. Submitting free to search engines really does not yield much.

13.Always keep updating your hubs. If any of your hubs has no visitors, revise it adding more content. Search engines will crawl it again.

Few additional tips or tricks:

• Take care to create a hub answering a request from "request section " of hub pages, You may have temptation to answer a request but give a thinking to it. Some of the requests may be interesting to few people only. Furthermore,hubs answering requests may not generate revenue if these hubs are viewed only by hubbers. main reason for this lies in the fact that hubbers are reluctant to click an ad on a hubpage.
• When you have created sufficient number of hubs, make a blog on other sites like blogger or wordpress providinglinks to all of your huns
• Whenever you get a chance to submit URL of your hub on search engine sites either as your favorite blog or "submit a site" don't let this opportunity go.
• If you are getting zero traffic, join getfreetraffic or linkreferral sites. Of course they will send traffic to your site but keep in mind that clicks from such traffic have very low monetary value. Hence take advantage of these sites to streamline your traffic but don't continue for a long time. Link to these sites are provided in one of the hubs listed below.
• Even you can create a hub grouping similar hubs providing links to similar type of hubs as I am doing it in the following section.

Note: Always remember that attracting traffic is not a big problem if you write on topics that covers large target visitors but maintaining is really difficult. Only evergreen topics meet this criteria.
