Cloth diapering; it's a growing trend. Many people never even consider it when they are having their little ones, though there is a growing awareness as people wish to be more environmentally conscious.

I believe the two top reasons people start using cloth are:

1) to help preserve the environment and

2) to save money

Both of these reasons were at the top of my list when I began. I had someone give me what I'll term a "modern cloth diaper". It was truely enlightening to a whole new world to me. This diaper didn't require any pins, it had plastic snaps on it. It had elastic on the legs and the waterproof layer was sewin right to it..I found this absolutely AMAZING. I fell in love with the concept of cloth diapering for the first time and this was my third child. I now know this amazing diaper that was given to me is considered an All In One or AIO for short. I immediately started researching and found a vast new world of diapers. The one I had given to me was plain, and white, and in the modern world of cloth considered "old". They have bright colors, embroidered designs, velcro type closure or snap closure, even the snaps and velcro type closured are colored.There are a variety of soft wonderful fabrics used. I was completely absorbed. The research into cloth diapering became mind boggling. How does one decide what to use? I can see how one gets overwhelmed.

My overwhelmed self then made a big decision. I was going to make my own!! I started researching the fabrics and quickly learned that my son was sensitive to the synthetic fabrics most commonly used inside diapers. I started searching cotton fabrics and found that there is a market for people looking for diapers with natural fabrics to go against babys skin. I quickly decided to become a Work at home Mom also known as a WAHM. I learned to make diapers for my son and developed a pattern that I was satisfied with to present to the public.

It is now 18 months later and I'm happier than ever with my decision to cloth diaper my last child, and with my decision to offer them for sale to others.
