DJ's and Producers Who Create Club Remixes From Popular Music
69A word of praise for the genre of remix artists.
Music is a popular genre. People everywhere listen to top 40, country, classic rock, punk, hip-hop. The categories are endless. There is a sub genre to this -- and that world belongs to the many DJ's and Producers who create what are known as Dance Remixes or Club Remixes. There are a lot individuals out there, doing this work, who are very talented. Some of the names that come right to mind are: Junior Vasquez, Hex Hector, Peter Rauhofer, and Maurice Joshua, just to name a few. These talented people are all artists in their own right, and the list stretches for quite a ways. They have worked with some of the biggest names in music because they do what they do WELL!!! Artists from Madonna, Whitney Houston, and Destiny's Child to Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, and Pink have all had their songs remixed into dance tracks. Madonna has had her song mixed by some of the best in the business: Victor Calderone, Felix Da Housecat, Richard "Humpty" Vission, Junior Vasquez, Hex Hector and Tracy Young. Jennifer Lopez has had many of her radio hits remixed by such talents as: Full Intention, Thuderpuss, Junior Vasquez and Pablo Flores. Both Vasquez and Flores can put such an amazing Latin spin on Lopez's sound, you can't help but want to get up and dance to it. The pet remixer for most of the songs produced by Destiny's Child is Maurice Joshua. Joshua can take a Destiny's Child track and put a 70's old school spin on it that is just incredible. Joshua mixed just about everything for Destiny's Child, and even some hits for Beyoncé after she went solo. Whitney Houston is no fool when it comes to turning her Pop and R&B sound into even bigger hit songs. Houston uses a wide array of remix artists such as: Jason Nevins, Jonathan Peters, Thunderpuss, Full Intention, Hex Hector, and HQ2 just to name a few. The remaining list of people I will name because they deserve at the very least to be mentioned. This is just a quick list that I came upwith rather in a hurry. This is not by any means, a complete list of all the incredible talent working today. The remaining people in the industry did not receive mention above, so here they are: Erick Morillo, Armand Van Heldon, Ralphi Rosario, Eddie Arroyo, Rosabel, Fernando Garibay, Mousse T, Express 2, Oscar G, The Passengerz, Deep Dish, Todd "Tee" Terry, Murk Boys, Mike Rizzo, Milk & Sugar, Club 69, Boris & Beck, Motiv 8, Mood II, David Morales, Groove Peddlers, Sunship, Bimbo Jones, D-Bop, and M.A.W. (Masters At Work). All of these people can take the slowest love song, ballad, pop song, etc..., and turn it into an up tempo, high energy, base booming, dance track that the people in the club set go nuts for. The job takes real skill and real talent -- and all of these true artists possess both.
These are my personal thoughts. Critique them however you may!
