How to use color to heal
70Color Therapy
Color therapy, also known as Chromo therapy, draws on the positive effects of colors to balance the body’s energy centers or chakras. Imbalance in the energy centers is thought to be the key reason behind the manifestation of disease. Imbalance, which could occur in the physical, emotional, spiritual and mental levels, is rectified with color therapy.
Since most living things depend on light in some way for survival, it is theorized that our tissues and organs live on, and in turn produce, the same energies as light. Even though light is colorless, it carries the full spectrum, where there is a frequency and vibration for each color, that relates to specific areas of the body. When the vibration and energy of a particular organ is disturbed by disease or distress, bringing that organ together with its related color, restores homeostasis. Asian medicine has shown us how meridians carry energy through our bodies, connecting to each of the organs in turn. Acupuncture is used to remove blockages in the meridians energy flow, and color is used in the same way.
Light which flows in through the human eye, triggers internal hormone production that controls the complex biochemical system of our bodies. Likewise, light absorbed through exposure to sun or artificial sources, also influences are emotional and physical well-being. Color therapy in some instances, mimics the natural absorption of color from light, to supply what we may be lacking to keep our bodies and minds in balance.
Color Therapy
The entire spectrum of colors is derived from sunlight. In the light
spectrum, each color vibrates at a different frequency. The vibrations
of colors transmit energy, which is used to balance the body’s energy
centers or chakras.
Origin
This form of healing using colors was prevalent thousands of years ago and can be traced back to Ancient Egypt
and Greece. In India, ancient Indian scriptures, such as Atharvana
Veda, speak of color healing that occurs with the rays of the sun.
Further, traditional Ayurveda affirms the healing powers of colors.
The Energy of Color
Every
cell in the body requires light energy. Nature itself is full of color.
Therefore, it is no surprise that we are drawn to color. Color is
energy. The energy vibration of color is used to enhance and balance
the physical, emotional and spiritual state of a person.
Harmonious, soothing colors and color combinations are used to promote health
and inner harmony, key triggers for healing. The energy of color
impacts our mood, health, and thought process. When we heighten our
awareness to the energy of color, it helps to transform our pattern of
health and well being. Importantly, the mood-enhancing properties of
color help to improve overall quality of life.
Color Meditation
Meditation
relaxes the body and quietens the mind. Take time to look inside
yourself and calm your mind. Hold your attention to one color that you
are drawn to, and meditate on this color. The practice of meditation
enables a new experience, making the spirit feel fresh.
Other tools used for color healing include Gemstones, Candles, and Prisms etc.
Color healing not only works on the physical level but also on a spiritual level. It forms a link between our physical bodies and the finer forces of vibrations. This takes us to higher levels of consciousness leading to spiritual growth.
Color Therapy
The goal of color therapy
The goal of any form of healing
therapy is to balance the energy centers. Colors possess healing
properties. When our system is balanced, there is no disease. The
problem of imbalance can be addressed with the application of color,
which assists in restoring the balance. Color interacts with the human
energy system and brings about a balance in the physical, emotional,
mental and spiritual conditions.
This
science of color therapy uses the various colors in the spectrum to
maintain the vibrations of the body at the required frequency, which
brings about harmony and good health. The way we think affects the
electromagnetic field or aura of our body. So, using colors to uplift
our thinking induces a sense of well being that restores equilibrium in
the body.
As color is a vibratory energy, it can activate a
particular organ, gland and system in the body. Each organ has a
specific color to activate it. As colors are intelligent vibrations,
the application of color on the electro magnetic field rectifies the
imbalance in the body, restoring it to the original pattern. It is this
energy of color that helps in the healing process.
Proper use of colors
Color treatments can be applied
to the body in a number of ways to treat diseases. The therapist is

Using Colors To Heal
Using Colors To Heal
Using colors to heal or chromotherapy is a well known treatment method for numerous diseases. Having a very well supporting therapy role together with other natural methods, chromotherapy can be considered as one of the major element in a natural healing process.
Chromotherapy researchers suggest that the cause of any disease can be originated from the inadequacy of certain color in the human system. Applying multiple variations of coloured lights to the body according to the disease will aid in the overall restoration of the balance. Huge application of chromotherapy such as "Color halls" were used for healing processes in ancient Egypt, China and India, around 2,500 years ago.
Generally, blue lights have elements of providing calming sensations and red in the other hand, stimulates oneself in many ways. Blue and red can be considered as the 2 major colors with yellow being in the middle. Not to mention, these 3 colors are the main principal colors in a rainbow.
A simple chromotherapy process simply starts with a thorough evaluation of the patient in which color he lacks. The determining elements can be traced by observing the color of the eyeballs, nails, urine and excrement. Deficiency of red will usually result in bluish nails and eyes as well as the urine and excrement being white or bluish. Lack of blue in the other hand will bring you reddish eyes and nails together with yellowish or reddish urine / excrement.
The most prominent source of light is the sun, providing sunlight which consists of 7 different colors - red, orange, yellow, green, indigo, blue and violet, which contain most of the benefits to maintain a healthy body. Hiding and depriving oneself from the benefits of sunlight can only bring negative effects and encourage diseases. Diseases such as chlorosis, anemia, leukemia, emaciation, muscular debility, degeneration of heart and liver, dropsical effusion, softening of bones, nervous excitability, physical deformity and stunted growth are some of the result of sunlight deficiency. Reasonable usage of sunlight however, is well known to improve digestion and nutrition, quicken blood and lymph circulation, as well as increase the elimination of impurities through the skin.
The action and effect of various colors on the body and their healing qualities are as follows :
Red - Red represents the symbol of heat and fire, providing stimulation and plays a major role in energizing as well as revitalizing your body. It basically stimulates the arterial blood and brings warmth to cool extremities. Areas of application include low blood pressure, rheumatism, paralysis, and anemia.
Orange - Energizes the nerves and provides stimulation to the blood supply. Used often in the treatment of kidney and gallstones, hernia and appendicitis.
Violet - Beneficial in the treatment of nervous and emotional disturbances, arthritis, acute cases.
Yellow - Act as a stimulative agent for the brain, liver and the spleen. Efficient in the treatment of diabetes, indigestion, kidney, and liver disorders, constipation, eye and throat infections, syphilis and impotence.
Purple - Beneficial in the treatment of advanced stages of constipation, hydrocle, leucorrhoea and many disorders of the stomach and the womb.
Green - Well regarded as the color of harmony, it acts as a mild sedative, useful in the treatment of nervous conditions, hay fever, ulcers, influenza, malaria, colds, sexual disorders, and cancer. It also preserves and strengthens your eyesight.
