How is it that Mr. Obama won the 2008 election and after less that eight months in office has seen his favorable rating drop to an almost all-time low for the time in office? He can recover as did Bill Clinton but I hope he doesn’t. What he is doing to us (not for us) isn’t good. People who approve of where he is taking us are certain to change their minds. Even those with their hands out for a free lunch will likely come to understand the error in their thinking over time.

The beef of many according to news reports, is the strong suspicion Mr. Obama’s promise of change and transformation isn’t what the people want. No longer a suspicion on my part, I’m convinced he wants more and more government control over our lives. Even if it means he will leave office as a one term president.

We have the bailouts, trillions of dollars for someone to pay if he gets his way across the board, and his healthcare plan which is not only expensive but will bring the IRS deeper into our lives. Now, he wants to take an hour or so of our children’s school day next week to (you fill in the blank to match your opinion) _________.

However, I fill in the blank this way: begin conditioning our youth.

Far-fetched? Perhaps but it has happened before. I know we cannot believe everything we read, especially on the internet, is factual. I quickly admit a lot of what I write as opinion turns out to be invalid but, still, I write in good faith. Regardless, read Hitler Youth for a mind shocker. I don’t put it past Mr. Obama to attempt turning our youth against our accomplishments of the past 235 years. Those accomplishments have brought us to the greatness we enjoy today.

For more evidence of where Mr. Obama wants to take us, look at the beliefs of three of his associates:

• Anthony “Van” Jones, the Green czar, is in the news nearly every day. As more information about Mr. Jones becomes available, I’ve become convinced he is anti-American. Not un-American but anti-American. A reading of the 911 Truth Statement shows Van Jones as one of the 161 signatories. The document suggests the Bush administration intentionally allowed the 911 attacks to happen.

• John Holdren, the Science and Technology czar, advocates abortion and sterilization as a way to keep the population to a size that our resources can support. Beginning on page 31, his paper “Population and the American Predicament: the Case Against Complacency”, appears in the book, The No-Growth Society. Mr. Holdren’s position is pretty clear. Does this mean he will recommend a government controlled zero population growth policy to Mr. Obama? My answer is yes.

• Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, health adviser to Mr. Obama, has written extensively about who should get medical care, who should decide, and whose life is worth saving according to Betsy Mcaughey in her August 27, 2009 Wall Street Journal opinion.

There are other controversial and questionable characters with ties to Mr. Obama. We heard of most during the past year. Remember hearing about Jeremy Wright, William Ayers, and Louis Farrakhan? Well, add Jeff Jones to the list. Jeff Jones, along with William Ayers and others, founded the Weather Underground, a group responsible for bombing the Pentagon among other government buildings.

Further, Glenn Beck and Phil Kerpen, the director of policy at Americans for Prosperity, had an interesting exchange during a recent interview. According to Mr. Kerpen, Mr. Jones was instrumental in drafting the stimulus bill.

Mr. Obama associates with these kinds of people for a reason. With the popularity of the analysis coming from FOX News, people are beginning to learn more and more about Mr. Obama and do not like what they learn.

It’s easy to understand why the sky is falling on Mr. Obama.
