Advantages of copper pipes:

1. One advantage of copper pipe is its quality. Copper pipes have a long term proven performance record. It does not get rust. Copper pipes require no maintenance. The copper system has no problems. Joint fittings will not break down or pull apart.

2. It withstands punctures and abrasions and not become brittle with age. After installation, there are no cracking years. The joints withstand rapid pressure and temperature changes.

3. When exposed to fire, it does not burn or give off smoke or toxic fumes. Copper tube and fittings will not melt burn or give off toxic fumes in a home fire. In houses terribly destroyed by fire, usually the only thing left is the copper plumbing. That is why copper is preferred for fire sprinkler systems. It maintains pressure when subjected to flames.

4. It is resistant; it can block contaminants from penetrating its walls. Copper is impermeable and biostatic. Contaminants cannot penetrate it, and it actually inhibits the growth of harmful bacteria. Copper is a natural, environmentally friendly material.

5. The cost for copper quality and reliability is very low. When repairs are considered, an all-copper plumbing system costs about the same as others made with less-quality materials. A copper plumbing system adds value to your home when you want to sell it. Real state brokers agree with this.

Copper is the Best

Copper is use in plumbing projects for more than 50 to 70 years. Not only majority of homeowners and plumbers prefer copper, so do commercial building owners, builders and suppliers. So when you are planning for a certain plumbing project, go for the best. Use copper pipes.

I had remodeling work done on three of my four baths in the last 3 years and copper piping was used in all of them. I am glad to hear that it was well worth it. I never knew why it was so highly recommended, thanks for the useful info.
