Corin “Corkin” Nemec rose to fame as Parker Lloyd Lewis on the 1990s sitcom Parker lewis Can’t Lose. The show portrayed the life of a hotshot High School slacker, with plenty of exaggerated elements such as goofy sound effects and dramatic music. It was a typical nineties sitcom and, as such, hasn’t aged too well.
Before he played Parker Lewis, his did guest spots on shows like Webster and Island Son. He also starred in the made-for-TV movies What’s Alan Watching and I Know My First Name is Steven.
After Parker Lewis Can’t Lose was over, he starred in an assortment of television shows, made-for-TV movies, and theatrical films.
When I first saw Corin Nemec’s picture, I knew that I had recognized him from somewhere. It turns out I had seen him in two places. One was in Stephen King’s The Stand, a television mini-series that had been adapted from King’s novel about the end of times. In it, he played a man named Harold Lauder.
The second place I had seen Nemec was in a guest spot on Smallville, the WB (now CW) drama about Clark Kent/Superman growing up in Smallville, Kansas. He played a man that Lex Luthor stabs to death, as well as a lookalike.
He starred in films such as Drop Zone with Wesley Snipes, The War at Home, The First to Go, and Operation Dumbo Drop with Danny Glover, Ray Liotta, and Dennis Leary.
He also starred in Mosquito Man, as Police Lt. Tom Randall. He fought the Mansquito!
For a child actor, he isn’t doing too bad for himself. In 2007, he’ll be in two movies: The American Standards and RoboDoc, opposite David Faustino. And in 2008, he’s set to star in a film titled The Quantum Heist.
