Youth relevence in todays political climate?

The youth is either fading in relevence or don't care about anything else except the present. A basic description of youth, someone aged 16 - 35, mainly known as the lost generation and not actively involved in many facets of society. This is a brief, generalised and basic description of the current youth.

What it means to be young and care free? Well, for one it means no issues except when it impacts on ones social life is relevent. No particular community sense of belonging, unless of cause it means drinking, smoking or being reckless. It is disturbing to realise how much of the above relates to a majority of the young adults, in all societies.

The only thing that matters is the next party, club and how much you get laid or drunk. Is it because we live with no ambition or maybe we hope to catch up with life maybe after 40 years? The question is why do we let ourselves believe that it is acceptable to mess up and hope to learn from those experiences, while there are countless people in our communities we could easily identify as having failed the same route we are taking.

Is having a good time today so important that nothing else matters for the future or beyond? Is the youth so out of touch with reality, that most cases of deaths in the world are from this particular group? We all seem to think it is the society that make the youth to act that way as they think what they see is normal! Teen pregnancy, unemployment, crime and being economically inactive is the only thing that seem to be happening .

Has our youth leaders lost the initiative in inspiring the care free youth, are the elders of the communities given up on helping the lost generation? No one seem to care about the youth anymore, they have failed themselves to see a need to care, I suppose why sould anyone else care. Most youngsters are looking up to a sorry lot of individuals as role models, the current crop of news makers are the most embarrassing people we could ever follow.

The word celebrity has lost the meaning it was intended, Nelson Mandela is a celebrated individual and hence he is recognised world wide and would be refered as a celebrity. Barack Obama could fit the mould of people worth using as role models, not the useless crop who think being in the news at all costs is a status and entitlement to the celebrity tag. Partying all night, while the children are cared for by nannies, taking all sorts of drugs is not quite passing as a modelled behaviour.

Any person who thinks, having multiple partners every now and then, or takin any drug to be in the high, alcoholic reliance for having fun, having babies and hoping to get state benefits, being lazy and bahaving like the world owes you something, is missing the boat. Life is what happens now, today in the present and that is a fact. If one indulges with the above, in any capacity, is wasting precious time of their lives, which sadly is at times unrecoverable.

The youth needs help, the only people who could say that is the youth themselves. No one can help people who don't ask for help and for you to appreciate that, you have to accept that your a failing and admit to be taking the wrong route of life. I don't think you need a religious call, be a reality check!

Get involved in the economy, get a job, get involved in community programs, accept responsibility of your life, get a role model and get your life in order. Try a new hobby, help with the eldrs at a care home and grab a book, READ, be knowledgeable and live your life!!!
