68Craigslist is an Online Classifieds
You may not know what craigslist is but I am betting you will soon hear the name if you have not already. Craigslist or Craig's as we call it in my household is our one stop shopping for just about any thing we may be looking for. I have not only bought things for very cheap prices on craigslist but I have sold many items as well. I put free items on Craigslist. On occasion I find a free item or two on Craig's that some one just wants to give away. If you are a penny pincher then you will want to learn more about Craigslist as it will make your dollar stretch further and your junk items disappear right before your eyes.
First of all Craigslist is customized in your area, understandably Craig's can't be every where so therefore Craig's is in your largest cities in your state to help better serve more people. I live in a large city so I have Craigslist in my area. I log on to Craigslist.org

Craigslist was started in 1996 by a man named you guessed it Craig, I hear he is blushing as I speak because it seems he is quite modest about it being named after him *to sweet*. I first came across Craig's when I was looking for a stove but was flat broke not a penny to my name for a new stove but I knew where there was a will there was a way to find a better stove. My stove was quite old and shocking to say the least, really I mean it shocked me when I touched it. A lass, even so I still had to cook for my family.
I set out on my Internet search for this new or at least in better shape then my own stove endeavor. Once I began looking around on the net I started getting this page called Craigslist it had free stuff listed on it. Craigslist was a virtual one man's trash is another man's treasure~literally. Well I do not have to tell you that the word free caught my eye right away. With in a day I was on my way to pick up my newly acquired free stove thinking all the while it had to be less shocking then the one I now own. Once I happily installed my newly acquired stove I was shocked, though not literally this time, at the fact the person who gave it to me just wanted it removed from their garage never to see it again. I was happy to help them de-clutter and they were happy to help me have a less shocking stove in my humble little kitchen.
Now that you know my Craigslist Love affair started over a desperate need for a less electrifying experience during my evening hours. I must admit I am desperately in love, I love Craig's for all it offers. If you are looking for free stuff in your area, an item for a cheaper price or to give away a pet -*in the pet section of course-never post pets in the free area big no no, or even to buy a car Craigslist is a great place to visit first to get some ideas what's out there and yes to make that purchase a bit more frugal and possibly less shocking for yourself.
Now I know recent news would have you believe Craig's is some evil place where people die, nothing could be further from the truth. I even received a few calls from concerned friends and family as they are aware of my love affair. I have to say if you venture into the personals you are on your own there man. There is just no telling what your eyes may be assaulted with in that area consider yourself forewarned seriously okay.
Having said that I do operate with a level of safety that I feel very confident no harm would ever come to me as a result of any thing having to do with Craigslist. I never have anyone meet me at my home unless I have other people home, feel comfortable with the person or leave some thing on curb and never meet the person face to face. I always meet some one in a public place with a lot of people around if money will change hands or I have someone with me I never go alone to meet with anyone I do not know personally. A level of safety awareness doesn't hurt no matter where you are going or what you are doing. The recent news about Craig's I do not fault Craig's for at all. If this crime had been a result of the newspaper I doubt if it would have even made the news really. Just my opinion of course.
It has to be said though there are people out there that do not have the best intentions so just be a ware of that fact and you will be fine. Always take someone with you or have more then one person if you are meeting someone you do not know. Having said that enjoy Craigslist. I love the fact you can get things for free or so much cheaper and even unload your storage shed of unwanted or unneeded items quickly. It's like having a virtual yard sale with out having to move every thing out side. just take a picture of your item and add it to Craig's then give a description and wait for people to be interested. You can choose to keep your email private so you can just answer the people you wish to answer that's a great idea. Hope you enjoy Craig's as much as I do but a word of caution, you may have a jealous sugnifigant other because you spend more time with Craig's then you spend with them :)
