Evolution the New Thought Crime

Chris Comer's forced resignation for drawing attention to the fact that there was an upcoming talk by a supporter of evolution gives lie to the fact that Evolution is the knew thought crime. In today’s new speak, faith is fact, and religion is science. The modern America punishes people for bringing attention to the changes and for those who try to do their jobs in a manner, which in anyway disagrees with the new order.

The growing problem with Intelligent Design (ID) or in reality Creationism is that it is not science. There are no facts that back up Intelligent Design, and no major scientist support it. However it is growing in popularity supported by the religious movement and good propaganda. Their rallying cry of “teach the controversy”, is pointless because there is no controversy. It is not a real scientific theory. Creationism is a religiously based idea that revolves around faith instead of facts. There is no controversy except how such a nonscientific idea can be considered science.

In this case the forced resignation of Chris Comer is a disgrace to the educational community. It is politics plain and simple and is exactly how the Creationist movement has progressed so far. By forcing out any one who would even point out real science and inform people of the fact that some one who disagrees with the Creationist biblical law exists. The Texas State board of education is not even teaching any so called controversy. In this case they are just subscribing to orthodoxy so dogmatic it will not even accept a mere mention of disagreement with its Creationist agenda.

Creationism and the religious theocrats that support it are not happy just trying to gain control of our country they want control of our minds and the minds of our children. They wish to indoctrinate the population from such a young age that it will become nearly impossible for our country to vocalize any kind of dissent no matter how true. They are willing to use the mechanism of power to enforce their beliefs, severely crippling and retarding our country’s future. They base their belief in a literal understanding of a book written between 1500- 4000 years ago, by people who had little to no conception of the world or science as we know it today.

Its fine if you want to believe in Creationism, it’s fine if you want to believe in the spaghetti monster, or that the earth is flat, I don’t care what any one does in the privacy of their home. Faith and belief don’t make something true; only facts do and there is none to prove any of those beliefs. Your personal faith in no way hurts me it neither picks my pocket nor causes me injury, just as my lack of faith does not hurt you.

Where it becomes a problem is when you take my tax dollars and use them to teach your faith to little children. By doing this you violate the first amendment of our constitution, and while it may mean little with all of the trampling that has gone on lately it is still a binding document we agree to as Americans. By forcing Creationism we establish a state supported religious belief that not every one in this country shares. It does not matter if this belief is not specific to a religion but just inherently religious. My right to not believe in any thing and raise children to do the same is protected just as much as any religious belief.

Intelligent design when it is supported by tax dollars is inherently a violation of the establishment of religion. Regardless of whether they use the word god or creator you are establishing a faith based and therefore religious belief. Evolution is not a religious belief because it is factual it is changing and any thing that is stated as being a process of evolution has to be proven over and over instead of just repeated over and over again.

This is just one more example of the growing theocratic state that threatens not only our freedom but also our way of life. When I was a child my conservative and adult critics would always say if you don’t like it go to the Soviet Union. Well now I don’t have to the orthodox belief and totalitarianism is coming to America, but instead of being Communist and Atheist it is Christian and Capitalist. Free market enterprise and Bibles for all.
