Rival Crock-Pot Elume Review: Touchscreen slowcooking has arrived.
69Rival Crock-Pot Elume
A new-fangled Rival Crock Pot impressed my wife and that is enough to impress me!
My wife comes from quite a large family and because of this has anumber of Brothers and Sisters. A few of her Sisters really love to cook and because of this they know their way around the kitchen. Often when my Wife comes back from a visit with one of them she is telling me about the latest kitchen appliance or gadget that one of them has bought and is now trying out and getting used to in their kitchen at home. The latest kitchen item that my wife was telling me about was an offering from the Rival corporation, a company well-known for their broad line of Crock Pot brand slow cookers. The kitchen appliance in question was the Rival Elume Programmable Crock Pot. Simply put, this is a 6.5-Quart crock-pot slow cooker with touch screen technology. In just a few days hanging out with her sisiter, my wife seems to have become quite well acquainted with the new crock pot. She said that she was really quite satisfied with its performance. Starting from the outside and working her way in, she said that the exterior wasreally attractive with its brushed steel look and seemed pretty easy to keep clean of any smudges, etc. She said that the crock pot's handles seem to be some kind of metal but they have some kind of coating that makes them easier to hold and less likely to slip while picking up the crockpot when it is full. Looking inside the crock, my wife described it as having abasic black liner that was easy enough to wash by hand or in the dishwasher and which did not seem to leave behind any annoying streaks or stuck-on food residues after cleaning it. That is actually important to my wife because she used to have this one slow cooker that had a black liner and she used to often find that the liner would not clean that well without some extra effort.
When it comes to the aspect of the elume that makes it different from or stand apart from other crock pots, the touch screen technology, that really impressed my wife. She said that the digital touch screen controls on the faceplate were really pretty straight-forward and that they allowed the user to program the crock pot so that they could set it to cook in either the high or low setting for as many hours and minutes as the user wanted. After the cooking time had been reached, there was a warm setting that would kick-in and count down from four hours to give you an idea of how long the elume crock pot had been on the keep warm setting. y wife said that is was a bit weird that you have to actually turn off the unit if you decide to switch between the high and low setting but that isn't really a big deal. The unit apparently cooked their meals well, with my wifeand her Sister being particularly pleased with the results when they decided to roasta whole chicken and later when they tried a stew. the larger size of the crock made that an easier task, she said.
I know that there are a number of people who like to be able to maintain their Rival slow cookers for as long as they can before giving in and buying anew one, and this elume crockpot will probably be one of those that its owners try to keep around for a long time, I am just not aware if Rival has made any official replacement parts available yet. Of course a quick check of any number of crock pot websites will tell you if there are in fact any Rival crock pot replacement parts out there yet. If this model of slow cooker should catch on however, I shouldn't be surprised to seem them made available soon enough.
