cross stitching your own horse

If you own a horse, or love a horse its a great idea to create a beautifull little cross stitch of your horse, as a memory forever! This is how i created my horse in cross stitching,

I found this pattern of a horse on a merry-go-round one day in a book, and i really liked it, so i drew it on a peace of paper with squares and took away the merry-go-round pole and the saddle. and it turned out to be a pretty neat looking cross stitch horse. (for some reason i could find many good horse patterns for cross stitching). The size of this one was perfect. I can put it in a little frame or sew it onto a t-shirt or anything :).

The picture i copied

So after copying the picture onto squares, you choose the colour of the horse. This is where you personalize it and make it your own horse. i chose mine to be brown, with black mane and tail, and white stockings. In the picture the high-lighted part is what i had completed.

one colour at a time

This is my horse when i completed the brown part. Now i have to add mane and tail, white stockings and black hooves. Its coming along well :)

Et voila

This pattern is very easy to change and create different looking horses, for example change the legs position and make a trotting horse or a rearing horse. Just draw it on squares and when you're happy with your drawing you can start stitching. And change the colours, like make a gray horse, or appaloosa.

You can also add a background and/or more horses and it will make a very nice picture that you can frame.

Enjoy your cross stitching :) thanks for reading
