The IPL “Indian Premier League” also popularly known as the "DLF Indian Premier League" as DLF is the lead sponsor is a 20-20 cricket game brought in by the BCCI, Board of Control for Cricket in India the richest cricketing board through the world.

It being a domestic game, people never gave a big thought that it would turn out to be so big money spinner for the BCCI, Players and Sponsors. Here, in this, firstly the teams were auctioned and the organizers raised a whopping Rs 7,000 crore from the auction, While GMR Holdings bagged team Delhi for Rs 336 crore, RIL won Mumbai for Rs 447.6 crore. India Cements snagged Chennai for Rs 364 crore, while UB Group picked up Bangalore for Rs 446.4 crore. Preity Zinta-Ness Wadia-Karan Paul-Mohit Burman won the Mohali team for Rs 304 crore, while UK’s Emerging Media won Jaipur for Rs 268 crore. Hyderabad went to Deccan Chronicle Holdings for Rs 428.04 crore, and the Kolkata team to Shah Rukh Khan-Juhi Chawla-Jay Mehta for Rs 300.36 crore. Bids opened at $50 million, here BCCI made lot of money, then players were auctioned for the different teams available, here player made lot of money, players made millions of dollars. For example, England team’s all rounder Andrew Flintoff was paid a huge amount of $1.55 million, for the ongoing second season of the DLF Indian Premier League

The team owners of the DLF Indian Premier League earn by advertising for different brands, they sponsor teams, they get brand logo’s on t-shirts the players wear and also on the cricketing bats the player’s use for playing.

And now, even the channel which is showing live of the IPL is also earning big money, With 44 days of prime-time matches and 60 hours of additional programming, Six sponsors including presenting sponsors Vodafone and Hyundai are paying between Rs 20-30 crores each. Apart from this, Sony is asking for an average of 2.5 lakhs for ten seconds.           

But, one thing, this time in India, IPL and Elections have come at the same time and come in the summer….and making already hot days more hot.

yes you are right on one way. aah sometimes feel they should more concentrate on their work, atleast now with 20-20 they dont waste much time with it.
