Many years ago, dating back to the 1800's, people made their own handwritten customized Christmas cards. These were made as a craft by families, creative people or, for financial necessities.

Customised Christmas cards can now be produced by the use of personalised illustrations, such as the use of personal items of sentimental value such as family photos, holiday snapshots and celebration pictures.

There are also many computer programs and online features such as clip art, and loads of typefaces available now to produce unusual, funny, humorous or vintage themed Christmas cards. Or simply obtain a basic drawing program you can use on your PC to make simple Christmas cards.
