Cystic acne , everything about

Cystic acne, whether intermittent or chronic, is one of the most frustrating of various acne lesions to be dealt with. Its not only that cystic acne breakouts are painful, but the extent of damage they make often goes beyond the reach of topically applied products. What happens in cystic acne is not a very clear picture. It is actually triggered by a typical surge in hormones, such as occurs during a woman's menstrual cycle. For some unknown reason, the skin's oil glands become very much sensitive to this cascade of hormones, and react by overproduction of sebum- so much, in fact, that the oil gland itself becomes engorged, swollen, and hardened with the excess. Unable to push the extra oil into the lining of the hair follicle (which leads to the surface of the skin via pores), the gland bursts underneath the skin. This causes acute inflammation and irritation, and finally leads to the redness and soreness. Because these lesions start so deep in the skin, scarring is an all-too-common side effect.

Cystic Acne

CYSTIC acne infections are characterized by the following..

  1. The infections of these acne do not discharge or emit waste material and they do not rise to the surface of the skin.
  2. Deep infections that are cyst-like which can become large in the worst cases.
  3. . There is a very slow healing process with cystic acne and even if once healed, scarring is much likely.

Common treatments for cystic acne

  • Cystic Acne can be alleviated by long-term treatment with topical medication like septicide cleansers, antibacterial cleansers, glycolic cleansers, glycolic exfoliators and gentle follicle exfoliators.
  • Antibacterial cleaners very well work with most skin types. They try to control bacteria that causes acne and thus they eliminate acne in the long run.
  • Septicide cleansers are ideal for acne rosacea and for sensitive and/or dry skin types. This kind of medication functions as an anti-inflammatory agent.
  • Glycolic cleaners should be used for oily kind of skin type with or without acne. It keeps the follicles clear of dirt and it also functions as a mild antibacterial against acne.
  • Follicle exfoliators are major factor in keeping follicles clear. They are effective in controlling acne and undesirable bacteria which may cause acne.
  • Gentle follicle exfoliators are ideal for acne rosacea and for dry to sensitive types of skin.It keep the follicles of the skin clear and helps to keep away bacteria which may cause acne.

Cystic Acne Sugery

People with cystic acne should never squeeze or try draining the cysts themselves because it causes more infection. If you have a very inflamed and painful acne cyst, you should go to the dermatologist to have it extracted and drained.

Treating cystic acne with acne surgery, also called draining and extraction of acne, is usually done when the growth is very big and does not positively react to other types of treatment. It is important to stress that acne surgery should only be done by dermatologists because they are the only ones who are licensed to perform such procedures.

Afterall... Cystic Acne

Everyone has different skin, different oils and different chemical composition. Because of this, every treatment on cystic acne will have a completely different effect on you, and the only way to eliminate acne completely is to work at finding the right treatment for your own self. What I tried, which was a combination of a gentle face wash, a sturdy moisturizer and 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, may do the trick for you or it may not. The main thing to remember is that you have to stick to it until you find an answer that eliminates cystic acne for you. I used a gentle face wash to prepare my skin for the peroxide, removing any surface oils in my skin to better open up my pores so that the benzoyl peroxide could get in. Then I applied the Benzoyl peroxide, which oxygenated my skin, drying it and reducing peeling so that my pores would not clog as well. Using this in large amounts was incredible effective for me. Finally I used a good, sturdy moisturizer to offset the drying and flakiness that was created by the large amounts of benzoyl peroxide. This helped to balance my skin, and I swear my skin looked better than ever, even after only a few treatments!.This was just a quote on how i removed my cystic ane.For you it may be, no it is different.Always understand that cystic acne is cureable and it is upto you that how much you work for it...

I myself get Cystic Ance once in a while especially around the time of the month. However, I have found that exfolliating a couple times a week helps keep them away and it's actually Target brand facial scrub. my derm. recommened it. Also, believeit or not, APPLE CIDER VINEGAR works wonders. I splashed it on my chin after washing it for 2 days and the cyst went completely away. It burns like I don't know what but that's another option, which is natural remedy. My Derm also recommened that. For healing apply polysporin. It's worth it!

For my cystic acne condition only a endocrinologist with special expertise in female hormone problems is been successful with Diane-35, a drug used to treat severe, stubborn acne.

Heat can help. I use the side of my flat iron on cystic acne, for as long as I can stand.

An overnight sulfuric acid mask on the affected area can draw out the acne too. I never knew you could just go to the dermatologist for surgery, although I'd be too humiliated. I still tell people I had a skin cancer removed instead of an acne scar.

Flat irons get really hot - do you use it while it's just heating up?

I have a dermatologist that prescribes minocycline which helps. But, i still get cysts every so often. I called once to have them drain it - I had to wait over a month for an appointment. I couldn't believe it. I guess they don't want to do it.

i have found that all the exspensive wonder cures only make matter worse if you close the bathroom door and take a really hot shower and dry your self off with the bathroom still steamy were your pores stay open then use your face pads also i descovered a medicne that was used in the 1800s that was simply witchs hazle and regular peroxide mixture i still use to thise day myself the best thing to do is avoid sweating to much until you get your oilunder control then rember to always stick with what works best for you and yes smoking dose aid acne it weakins your ammune system and adds a chemical to your body that lowers the white blood cell count in you skin tissue if you smoke add a b5 vitman and vitamin e to your daily intake and also its very impotant stay away from accutane i did a cycle n now have liver damage it is a very harsh and unsafe drug avoid stress by all means and rember pimples form from pores when they are cloged then close so never go to sleep un washed

I get cystic acne every once in a while and it's really hard and painful. Right now I have it on it chin and I really néed it gone by Sunday! Usually I just leave them alone and they dissapear on their own but now I have 3 all on my chin and there very big and red. I have apple cider vinegar on it so hopefully that works. Going to a dermatologist is out of the question for now. I don't know why but every time one heals another one pops up. I'm so irritated by it.
