An ingredient in all cigarettes is nicotine. Nicotine is more addictive
that heroin, this is a fact, and heroin is banned in most countries of
the world. So you may need to help you stop smoking. Let me tell you about dangers of smoking.
Besides heroin, physicians rated the nicotine ahead of alcohol and
cocaine in terms of dependence. Smoking more than 4 cigarettes a day
can cause a lifetime addiction to nicotine.
The cigarette manufacturers are not helping people get free of
nicotine. Between 1998 and 2004 the amount of
nicotine in cigarettes has increased at a steady rate, studies have
shown that all brands have significantly increased the amount of
nicotine that is absorbed in the lungs of the smoker.
In general the amount of nicotine increased by 10%. The Malrboro,
Newport and Camel brands are the 3 most common among young smokers, all
put more nicotine in cigarettes. Of menthol in cigarettes to nicotine
increased by 20%. Even with all this information can be difficult to
stop smoking.
Perhaps because smokers tend to look at tobacco as part of their
personality, as something without which they can not live. This is a
clear sign of an addiction and a dependency. A dependence on chemicals
such as the cigarette is considered a disease.
What makes the dependence on cigarettes is the biggest
psychological pleasure or satisfaction when you pull the smoke into the
lungs. Smokers describe smoking as a pat on the back after a day of
hard work. Some studies also
conclude that depression is 2 times more common for smokers people.
Some also use cigarettes as an activity to pass the time and be
patient. As in the films of war, when a soldier is waiting for a sign
of attack, it is with a rifle in hand and a cigarette in the other.
Nicotine causes an increasement in the brain of the smoker that becames more efficient in processing information. It also reduces anxiety and induces euphoria for.
Scientists also discovered that nicotine induces a state of alert and
arousal, sedation and relaxation, that depending on the dose of
nicotine. These effects are not larger than the negative effects of
nicotine dependence, which are the cancer of the lungs and other
diseases of which we speak that all lead to death. Knowing this because
it is so difficult to have to stop smoking

At least it's a little easier to quit smoking now that we have nicotine plasters and gum to help. i don't think I would have managed it without them.
