You are in luck we have found how to delete things from your ipod and it is so simple you will be amazed. First I'll explain what happened so you can avoid this problem to begin with. First here is what happened:
I copied songs from an old mp3 player into itunes. Then removed the mp3 player and got an exclamation point next to all the songs. The problem was that once I removed the mp3 player from the USB port itunes can't find the music anymore. OK simple enough so this time I copied the songs from the old mp3 player into "My Music" on the computer THEN went back to itunes and used File>Add Files and copied the songs into itunes. Perfect, the songs played and everything is great except for one problem. Now I'm left with duplicate songs that all have an exclamation point next to them. If you go to Edit>Delete you find the option to delete is grayed out so you can't select "delete". You can right click and you won't be able to delete either. You can also try the "Delete" key on your keyboard and you still can't delete the duplicate songs or the songs that have an exclamation point in itunes. Pretty soon you discover that you can't delete anything. Now what?
The solution is so simple; ready?
- Select the song you want to delete by single clicking it.
- Hold down the "Shift" key on your keyboard.
- Click "Delete".
Pretty awesome huh? You can delete anything you want from your ipod this way.
