Desert Island Dreamer

Long ago in a dream at dawn

there stood two figures on a beach

the early birds sang their morning song

clouds covered the sun streaming through

far beyond their reach

these two souls were left behind

on their own private island paradise

far away from pressure, stress, and strain

they were left to explore one another

as their lips met softly day and night

Recently I had a dream

that we were those two lovers

we whiled away the hours dancing

slowly across the sand

days turned into nighttime

learning every inch of your body with my hand

Then a rude awakening, the alarm clock loudly ringing

we rolled over on a bed of sand

holding on while our spines are tingling

and forever our hearts are singing

A lovely dream. To wander along a beach with a special someone is the definition of paradise.

You have to have a dream if you want to make a dream come true (:

I’ve had more naps than a cat, and I have had my share of these too. I also have put some into poems. I like this one, so fun and tingly. thanks
