Diabetes Type 2 Symptoms
62Symptoms
I experienced these common and typical signs of undiagnosed symptoms for over twenty years before finally being accidently discovered to be a type 2 diabetic. The symptoms began when I was in my late twenties.
Fatigue - feeling extreme exhaustion and muscle tiredness on a daily basis. I attributed this to the fact that I worked long hours and exercised by running 4 miles a day.
Shakiness of hands - severe enough shaking that I required both hands to steady my drinking glass to keep from spilling the contents. This usually occurred after long days of work or hard exercise.
Extreme thirst - to the point where I had to stop at a convenience store to buy a bottle of water to sate my need. I excused this because I worked hard.
Irritability - the smallest insignificant trifles would set me off into a sour mood during which I would frequently verbally abuse others.
Stumbling - often appearing to be almost drunk with alcohol even though I had not had any. I again excused this behaviour to working hard and fatigue.
These were the major items that I ignored, and for which I had rational reasons for feeling the way I did. It was only after I ended up in the hospital on an emergency that I was discovered to have a dangerously low blood sugar level. At this time I was in my forties and was relieved that I now knew what was causing all my symptoms.
My objective here is to urge those of you who feel something along these patterns to seek medical attention. I neglected to do so and lived feeling lousy for all those years. It was a needless condition that was largely mitigated by medication, correct diet, exercise, and expert medical attention and monitoring. There is a need for continuing medical attention because it is a progressive disease but can be controlled by following the medical advice of endocrinologists.
I can update to my current health status to answer any questions if you will so indicate by your comments.

Good article. Yes, I believe that most people are unaware of the symptoms for diabetes. Thanks for the information.
