Different Types of Leaders

The Leader
Throughout history the human race has had leaders. Infamous persons, that have become imbued with mythic levels of notoriety, reverence and hatred. From despotic tyrants who have enslaved and massacred millions, to pacifist icons who have inspired millions to peace and positive coexistence. The leader is a powerful figure.
They Take All Forms
Leaders take form in all areas of human interest and conflict. From political and military leaders, to pioneers and prodigies in intellectual and artistic endeavours.
Those who strive for something more, who push the known or accepted boundaries of a given field of knowledge or accomplishment.
Leaders can work in both an active or passive from. There are those who actively work to enact changes, to put their ideas and stratagems into a logistical framework.
Also
Equally there are people who can become a form of passive leader by inspiring others to follow their ideas and thereby have a leadership by proxy of their adherents.
Irrespective of what kind of leader a person may be, all successful leaders must have the ability to communicate their ideas and ideals to the masses. To the people who will embrace their ideas and equally to those who will oppose them. The power of persuasion is a key part of leadership.
Throughout History
Again throughout history many of the great leaders have been great orators. Their ability to muster great passion, pride and conviction through inspiring speeches has been a pivotal aspect of their leadership success. An obvious example that comes to mind would be the speeches of Winston Churchill during World War Two. His speeches had to inspire and give hope to a nation at war, by all means no easy task:
“...we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender...”
Conclusion
The power of a great leader is one who can speak for the many. One who can convey the hopes and desires of people. A leader should act as a conduit for the collective, and use their power to strengthen the group, be it a handful of people or a nation.
