Sepia tone is a type of digital photo in which the picture appears in shades of brown.

Before the invention of digital photography, sepia can only be produced in the darkroom, today sepia can be produced by using your camera's digital software, most photo-editing software usually has an option to sepia tone.

Creating sepia tone photograph is a favorite way of many photographers to evoke a sense of nostalgia. It is often associated with images from the late 19th century.

By using the Scene Effects of my Kodak Z700 software I was able to change the look of these photos to sepia tone. I like the option that I can add a brown tint to my picture, giving it an old-fashioned look and also to create a different style.

When a photograph is printed in sepia, it tends to look softer than it would in grayscale. The warm brown and gold tones of a sepia photograph also feel more alive to some viewers.

Modern photographers use sepia to make a photograph look and feel older, I used sepia as a stylistic choice.

Sepia is one of those tones that can make any photo that looks average from poor light to a arty style of shot in seconds, everyone should play with the Sepia tone.

Sepia does not really do that much for me. I agree that it can change a photo that has average lighting to a feature photo, but I still prefer b&w.
