Analog to Digital TV

You should have heard by now that all TV stations are required to go digital by February 17, 2009. Will your TV go dark? If you're using an antenna (analog) then the answer is yes, but don't worry. Analog users can purchase a digital converter or subscribe to a local cable or satellite company.

If you've purchased a new TV (March 07 or later) chances are the digital converter was built-in. The built-in feature are commonly labeled as SDTV (standard-definition), EDTV (enchanced-definition), or HDTV (High-definition). Some DVD players also function as a digital converter.

Even though you may purchase a DTV Converter box does not mean that you will receive any channels. You will need a good antenna and to be in a location with good reception. I purchased the Access 1080 converter box in January. It picked up about 8 channels with bad reception. Then after 2 weeks, it went blank. Tried several different antennas and none of them worked. This is going to be a big mess.
