dishwasher parts & service

dishwashers three most common problems are usually, leaking water, not cleaning the dishes or cleaning the dishes on the bottom rack but not cleaning the dishes on the top rack, and not draining water--if wheels are missing from the bottom rack this will cause the rack to sit on the spray arm if the spray arm can't rotate the dishwasher will leak--if dishes are partially clean this can mean there is little water coming in-the water valve need to be changed if you have this problem--water will not pump out usually mean a clogged drain or a defective pump--if this happen after you install a new disposal you need to punch out the piece inside the new disposal-the new disposal comes with a stopper inside the pipe where plummers install the drain coming from the dishwasher-some plummers don't know, and some forget.

p.s. another popular possible cause for a leaking is that someone load it with regular dishwashing liquid, regular dishwashing liquid suds a lot more in the dishwasher and will cause it to leak.

What are some brands to stay away from? And what are some good brands? What are some ways people misuse their dishwashers?

well the best models are usually the simple ones if you can find it-they all have computer controls now so there is going to be a problem sooner than later--if you can find one without a push button control i will recomend it--that mean the simplier it is the better-hope that help

Thanks for the insight on why a General Electric dishwasher may not drain. I am not a plumber but I do attempt at fixing things. Recently I replaced a garbage disposal for my sister and I found that the washer would not drain. I went and removed the plug on the disposal and solved the problem.

Again, thanks for your help,

Mario

I live in the Atlanta area. I have a Hotpoint dishwaher that's 2 years 3mths old. Yesterday, it stopped draining. I've read comments on the site and it seems I have a very common problem, BUT I am not a do-it -yourselfer. I plan to call a plummer and I would like to know if this is simply a clogged drain.....what's the average cost to repair it and at what dollar amount should I realize I'm being taken for a ride! Also, if it's not a clogged drain what other problem(s) could this represent?

I have a GE dish washer with 2 racks (each has its own fan at the bottom of the respective rack). water feeds from the bottom rack fan to the top via a flexible pipe. (there is no direct connection). Off late, the fants stopped rotating and as a result the disched are not washed properly. I wonder if it has to do with the less water being filled in to the dishwasher. any ideas. Thanks

  • American Sugar

In the quest to make America less dependent on imported oil from the middle east there might be a sweet solution, Sugar Cane, Farmers have been planting Sugar Cane in Louisiana, Hawaii and Florida for many years,Sugar Cane has been used in the past just to sweeten other products, however it can also be used to make Ethanol,Since Beet and Corn are now more widely used as sweeteners,Corn and Beet production have gone up recently, while Sugar Cane production have gone down, one of the many reasons for this is the cost, another is the amount of states that can produce Sugar Cane about ... - 15 months ago

  • Supermarket Savings

Buying food at the supermarket is something that we all do,we all get hungry so eventually we have to eat, the cost of some food have gone up over fifty percent from previous months, and saving money has become a concern for all of us. I use to see people at the cashier with coupons for most of what they are buying, they take up more time than people without coupons, and I think that without my knowledge of the savings they were getting, and being in a rush all the time, I have being missing out on some great. - 15 months ago
