On 01.04.2009, he campaigned a Aranthangi, Pudukkottai Dist. He told to the public that he is contesting the elections mainly because of ladies supporters and he demanded more support from ladies. Captain also recommended that DMK's Kalaignar TV is telecasting against ADMK and Jaya TV telecasting against DMK about an hour in their channel and requested to view the show and not to support them and vote for the goodies only.

On 03.04.2009, He was canvassing in Thivarur and during his speech , both parties ruled TN and they cheating the public. DMK is the only party to offer holiday for Electricity. He also asked the ladies why they are called "Sakthi". He briefed that girls with their parents pray their god and after marriage they will worship their in-laws god, so they will have more sakthi than male.

Lok Sabha Elections 2009 - Results and Views

Without winning a single seat, the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) headed by actor Vijayakanth once again played the spoiler, polling more votes than the victory margin in many constituencies. As in the 2006 Assembly elections, the party has proved that it could have made the difference between the victory and defeat for either front.

A similar trend was witnessed in the 2006 Assembly elections. The DMK and the AIADMK had direct contests in 115 constituencies and the DMK won 81 and the AIADMK 34. In 63 constituencies the DMDK’s vote share was higher than the victory margin.

Mr.Vijayakant said “elections have become a ritual in democracy since corrupt money, amassed by those who are in power and those who have been in power, is being used to buy votes.” He said the DMDK, driven by the objective of delivering the State from the corrupt regime, rejected calls for alliances and contested alone. “If the DMDK had joined either alliance, it would have become yet another political party,” he said.

Elections can be fair enough when the Electronic Voting Machines are not used. Otherwise congress and DMK will win by sabotaging the voting machines.
