Many people on the internet today are really looking for how to make money online. The truth is that the larger population of internet users are people who use the internet for:

Running an already existing business

A means of meeting new people and catching some fun

Make more money in addition to their present income

Now it would strike you to know that most of the money spent on the internet comes from the latter two groups. People either want to have fun or make more money, but you can’t rule out that people need to have money in order to have serious fun. So that brings us to the conclusion that people are desperately looking for money in order to enjoy their time better.

Most new comers who want to make money online always get attracted to the internet marketing niche. The internet marketing niche is one choice for most people because of the on-going popularity of the keywords “make money online”, and so many people who join the internet everyday are looking forward to have part of the no hassle, no stress, no boss, employment opportunity. So I decided I was going to do something on “make money online” – but lo and behold, it isn’t all roses all the way. If you have a strong dislike for selling stuff and persuading people, then this niche is not for you because it will go against your principle and you find it harder convincing yourself than convincing others in the market.

So to cut the long story short, I decided to do a little research to find out the fastest marketable and highly profitable niches around the internet today. Don’t misunderstand me here, there are niches out there that might not be on this list but are still spinning out a huge fortune for their publishers.

Here’s a quick list:

  1. Porn, Hacking and warez downloads(inasmuch as I hate to admit)
  2. Internet marketing
  3. Japanese Manga, Anime and games
  4. Celebrities, music and movies
  5. Football and Soccer
  6. Luxury goods, jewellery and fashion
  7. Computer Programming
  8. Health and fitness
  9. Computers and Electronics
  10. Job, Careers and Employment

The No. 1 spot on the list was quite a no-no for me. I wouldn’t give you a go-ahead on that one, so take a look at the rest of the list. The internet consists of the good side and the bad side, be careful about the side you are getting to. I personally would not recommend something I know I can’t mention publicly.

Inasmuch as I hate to put the very first item on that list, I had to be very plain and truthful about the facts on the internet.

And if you think you know what rocks in your town or city and you have a huge penetration of internet access across residents in that region, you could set up a local blog for that niche. I mean just find out the ideas that people consider very highly or the aspects of people’s lives that they are very passionate about, and of course willing and able to spend money on, and you have a niche.

Also, don’t forget about your competition, it’s likely you will have competition very soon if people discover that you are making profit from it, not to mention if someone else was also thinking about the same thing.

Now don’t just dive into these markets and expect to make a fortune without any effort, you need to be innovative in any situation if you are to make progress. You’ll make very little progress despite all your motion, if you choose to sit on a rocking chair.

You need to do some research about that market before you enter into it.

Some things to note about entering a niche market:

1. Make sure there is a living community who are online, for your niche (are you trying to sell Porsche cars to an Eskimo community)

2. Make sure that they have the power to decide to buy things online (or convince others to buy)

3. Make sure you have access to them (you can join their community, and contribute)

4. Know your competition and their tactics (competition is too strong - find another niche or create a better offer than theirs)

5. Setup your site or blog and make sure it is easy to read (Does your blog sting the eyes when you read posts, you’re searching hard to find that link?)

6. Provide targeted and immediate content (what does your audience want right now?)

7. Promote your site, products and services (article marketing and social marketing sites)

8. Provide new content regularly (have a regularly schedule for new content e.g. daily posts on your blog)

9. Provide free advice and some nice tips to assist your visitors with some common problems.

10. Conduct interviews, reviews on other blogs and forums related to yours, and don’t forget to leave useful comments.

11. Exchange links; advertise on other sites and blogs.

12. And very importantly, use visual aids in your posts, like pictures, little animations and videos, to attract a larger group of visitors.
