I am not writing this article to provide answers; I am looking for answers. Fist of all, there are many resources available; therefore a large investment is not needed to make a small amount of money. How does one identify real money? For example, if I want to make 20 dollars per hour and I invest ten hours a week, then I should make approximately 200 dollars a week plus enough to cover expenses. If someone is investing too much time for very little gain then there is obviously no profit. Search engines have become bogged down with multitudes of people trying to take your money. Almost any search results in someone asking for your small amount of cash.

It is amazing when I place an ad trying to make money, many people quickly solicit you to make free money. Usually this free (free as in no investment) money involves you advertising for a get-rich-quick company. If I can not get customers for myself, then how effective would I be in getting customers for a business that I have no interest in? They are trying to build up a network of advertisers, but an ad redirecting you to other ads turns people off quickly and has a negative affect. Since the economy is bad, how many online degree ads do you see? Getting a degree when the job market has shrunk does not guarantee employment. Another group is trying to take advantage of your desperation since the degrees aren't free. I feel education is important, but a bad economy does not increase the intrinsic desire to better oneself.

There are traditional methods for making a profit but the world is changing and new ways are appearing everyday. That also means that traditional doors are closing everyday. Increasing the online service industry will reduce pollution caused by commuters. Is the online market too new to be fully understood? Quite a few people became wealthy when the internet was new, but searches usually turned up a few hundred results for a particular item. Someone could actually visit every site on that topic. Today, almost any single word search produces over a million results; you are not going to visit every single site. If your site is number 222,001, chances are no one will ever find you. Of course there are companies that sell you the secret for SEO (search engine optimization). SEO has now even become a profession. The problem is only going to get worse in the future since access to the internet is increasing; so how do you stand out.

To make problems worse, how safe is the internet? Between identity theft and viruses destroying your computer, people are reluctant to spend money online unless it is a large well trusted company. That is very good for the large well trusted companies, but not the small person with a small investment. In addition to not being found, people are reluctant to conduct business with you after they do find you. With the increase of scammers everyday, the problem will not get better. Methods of recognized payment like Paypal assists in protecting both the vendor and the customer, but many people are still reluctant.
