Dog toys are wonderful fun things to have around the house for keeping your little monsters happy and content. It also keeps them from wrecking stuff you wouldn't want them to wreck, like furniture and stuff!

So as this is my first attempt at writing a hub page, it might be a little off kilter to begin with, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it!

So to start with why I'm writing about dog toys of all things, when most people are probably slavering over some pin up girl or other, or trying to make money selling fresh air as I see so many people writing about these days. Well, I can't be bothered with all that malarkey, so I thought I'd write about what I love best and that's my dogs!

They're only small critters, but those little dogs they're a helluva lot of fun and they love playing with all of their dog toys that they've accumulated over the years, so I guess I just sat down and decided to write about that!

Dog Toys are For Dogs

Sure, dog toys are strictly for dogs and I guess that will ring true with most dog lovers, as their own collection of dog toys probably far exceeds even their own kid's toys! I know mine have nearly always done! Well that's probably because kids will settle for a few really cool toys, whereas the dogs couldn't care a hoot how cool their toys are, just as long as there's plenty of 'em and they are suitably chewed up and messed up too!

Ha, I have to laugh at those two crazy canine lunatics. They get more pleasure out of a dirty, punctured old tennis ball they find in the park for free than any of the expensive or otherwise fancy dog toys that I go out to the pet stores to buy them!

You know, I recently spent nearly twenty bucks on a couple tug-o-war rope thingamajigs for the monsters to play with and what did they do with them? Nothin'!

They just ignored them and went on ripping the guts out of this old ragdoll they found a few days ago in the gutter! It makes me laugh so much my gut aches watching those two little Yorkies get more pleasure outta some piece of garbage they find than any designer toy money can buy. Hell, maybe they're trying to tell me something?

What am I doing wasting good money on stuff they couldn't care a hoot about?

So that's where we are with dog toys!

Dogs Love to Play Outdoors

Dogs love to be outdoors especially in a field or big open park where they can run free and chase things. As long as they're not interfering with anyone else or upsetting anyone, then they're good to go.

My two simply love to chase things I throw for them, whether they're frisbees, balls or simple sticks I find on the ground. Anything goes with those two crazy dogs! They will chase just about anything I throw for them as they are so eager to play and have fun. Its good for me too as I get plenty of fresh air and exercise at the same time.

Of course, the best toy of all for them is one of those Kong toys for dogs, you know the strange shaped, red rubber thing that's hollow and bounces all over the place. That has the pair of them running round in circles and darting and weaving all over the place because the Kong dog toy just doesn't go in a straight line!

Its perfect for teaching the dogs not to chase down their prey and kill it when its caught, as in the case of a regular ball which tends to bounce in a straight line. With the Kong dog toy, they get educated in chasing a demented, randomly bouncing and rolling rubber toy that not only keeps them physically agile, but also mentally agile too. That's because they have to keep altering their spatial perception with each new bounce and alter their muscle responses to cope with fast direction changes while keeping their concentration and eye contact with the toy in order to catch it.

Very clever indeed!

You know, most people associate playing Frisbee with big dogs in a large open space like a park or similar and don't pay much mind to little guys like Yorkies playing with those plastic discs.

Well, I'm here to tell you that they may be small, but they can play dog games as hard as the big fellers! You should see my two little ankle biters chasing down a Frisbee at the local park. Its so funny to see then almost flying over the grass trying to catch it! Little they may be, but Yorkies and I guess plenty other small dogs will get every bit as much fun out of one of those contraptions as any other dog.

So give them the treat of their lives and go play Frisbee at the park!
