Starting with the Basics

Now that internet access is available on many mobile phones, customers are exploring the potential of a totally new dimension of entertainment and convenience. For example, whether you want to make someone smile by sharing your favorite internet entertainment with them or you simply need a phone number, directions and other information off the web, downloading images, text, videos, music, ringtones, and games can make your phone more useful and more entertaining.

As mentioned above, there are many different kinds of media you can download from the internet to your phone. You can also post stuff online via your phone if you have the right tools to do so. The following short paragraphs explore some of the reasons that this tool is valuable.

Different Types of Media

Videos

With personal and family blogs becoming more and more common on the web, there are more home videos and pictures to share and see than ever before. And, if you travel a lot or you find yourself bored every once in a while, it would be useful to view those pictures and videos from any location. That's why so many people enjoy uploading and downloading them from the internet to your phone. You can even Upload YouTube to Cell Phone. That way, you will always have some entertainment for yourself and your friends at your fingertips.

Games

Even though I am usually too busy to play computer games, I have found that they can be very useful for entertaining children during long car rides or down time in a waiting room. If you don't want to carry a large and heavy lap top around to facilitate those activities, all you need to do is download the games you enjoy from the internet to your mobile phone.

Ringtones

When I bought a new phone, I was very happy with the speakers, the color, the size, and the price, but the ringtones were simply obnoxious. Even my husband agreed that there weren't a lot of good options to choose from. If you have a similar problem, solve it in a matter of minutes by sending ringtones from online websites to the list of options on your phone.

Text

The text that I find most useful for downloading on my phone is usually a small portion of an email or a website that contains some kind of information that I need on the road. This can be anything from driving directions to a phone number.

Images

Whether you want images on your phone for wall paper, school projects, or fun you can broaden your selection and make them more accessible when you download your favorites onto a mobile phone. Having them on hand will make it easy to get outside opinions on your choices as well.

Music

Unfortunately, music is usually a little more difficult to download on a phone than other forms of electronic media. Occasionally, you may have success downloading your favorite songs from the internet to your phone since it has been done before, but my personal recommendation would be to stick with an iPod at the moment if you want to get music off the web.

User Cautions

As fun and useful as this application can be, there are a few things that users should be aware of if they choose to download and upload media between their phone and the internet.

The first caution I would give on uploading and downloading media concerns fair-use issues. Most people get called on this issue when they upload material to the internet rather than download it. After all, the fair-use police have just as much access to the internet as the average Joe on the street, but you are really the only one who spends a lot of time on your phone. To avoid any potential trouble with fair-use scouts, all you need to do is avoid using copyrighted music, film clips or logos in your home videos, pictures, and stories. It's pretty easy to avoid problems if you use a little common sense.

The second caution would be to stay mindful of the amount of media you transfer to your phone. Even though images, videos, games, and pictures probably won't slow down your phone the same way they would your computer, there definitely isn't as much storage capacity on a phone and too much internet use could lead to limitations like the bandwidth limit that Comcast recently announced for their internet use. To avoid trouble with phone companies and internet providers, use the uploading and downloading features wisely.

Recommendations

There are a lot of different kinds software on the market that will allow you to donwnload Youtube videos to your cell phone. It is important to find one that is simple and easy to use. The software I would recommend can be found at zipclip.com . They have come out with a very easy system that allows you to easily clip any video or picture right to your phone. There are two great things about using zipclip. First, the software is free. This is something you don't find with a lot of the other companies. Second, zipclip allows you to create your own ring tones from videos off the net. This is a pretty innovative addition to any interactive software. If you are interested in uploading media to your cell phone now is the time to act.
