Prep Your Face Before Putting On Make Up
THREE IMPORTANT STEPS BEFORE Applying Your Make Up
It's not all about wearing make up, it's about wearing it well. Make up brings attention to the face so taking care of your skin would be the first practice a woman should learn.
True, I am a Pastor/Dr. and I am 54 years old. #1 That's why I will tell you that exfoliating is the number one fix for aging skin of any age!! You must exfoliate to get rid of the dead skin that generates daily on the dying cells on your face. Make sense? Yes! Cleansing is a daily must as well so that your pores don't clog up with they day before make-up.
I remember when I use to go to sleep with my make-up on, and I would wake up the next day with extremely dry skin. Been there done that. This is a NO! NO! #2 You must cleans your skin twice a day, morning and night so your pores want be clogged up with dirt, oil, dead skin. Your moisturizing creams or serums can't work their best if your pores are clogged up. Your skin care/serums want be able to penetrate through the clogged pores. Both exfoliating and cleansing will help aid your skin in accepting the moisturizers that you apply and any other serums or creams.
Picking Your Moisturizers With An SPF
#3 The Sun is our enemy! You must protect your skin on your face and neck! Please ladies, don't forget about your neck or you will be sorry later on in life. If you take care of your skin on your face and don't pay attention to your neck, your neck will age while your face will look younger. When using a moisturizer, please use one with a SPF. I recommend a 30 SPF, great defense! Dr. Denese is a good one, Serious Skin Care is another good one, and there are others that are very good. It is so important and a must to use a SPF moisturizer on the face and neck. Protect your skin.
Picking Your Foundation With An SPF
#4 Rather you wear a Liquid foundation or mineral foundation, it should contain a SPF just in case you forgot or didn't have a moisturizer with a SPF to apply. Using a primer after you have applied your moisturizer is GREAT. It evens out the skin texture and makes your skin smooth and flawless, which makes applying your foundation much easier. Believe it or not, I do every one of these steps and I get so many compliments on my skin when I don't wear make-up and when I do wear make-up I get compliments on my make-up!
If you have dry skin which I do, It want hurt you to wear a mineral foundation. just make sure you moisturize your face so the mineral foundation on your face doesn't look dry or you can use a liquid foundation w/ a mineral foundation on top to give it a matte look, but knowing that you have a foundation underneath working as a moisturizer. Ok ladies now that I have told you my secret, I hope that this will work for you.
Take care of your face and neck, and it will take care of you! You must take care of your skin to be able to wear your make up well! AMEN!
If you haven't accepted Christ as your Savior simply say in an audible voice, in all sincerity from the depths of your heart, "Lord Jesus Christ, forgive me of my sins and accept me as Your child. I accept You as my personal Savior and I promise to follow the instructions of Your Word from this day on. If I fail because I am human, please help pick me up so I can try again! Thank you, Jesus, for saving me from all my sins. AMEN."

How do you girls do it. We men get messed up just making sure we trim hair that grows wild or making sure our eyebrows don't look like they will crawl away on their own and make a cocoon. I shudder to think what would happen if I had to get liner on right or not look like a "painted lady"! There are you satisfied now? I'm gonna go off and have a nightmare about this I'm sure!

DPC- you are beautiful in your picture! It has paid off to take care of your skin. I have very fair skin and have always shied away form the sun due to severe sunburn...so now that i am older, that has paid off a little :) I didn't know that exfoliating was helpful. I will have to add that one to my routine. Thank you for a great hub (as always).
