caring for your dryer and all your kitchen and laundry appliances is important if you want them to work and look good for as long as they can.

clean lint before you use dryer is mark some where on most dryers and is also discussed in the owners manual yet i get two to four calls every year for dryer taking too long to dry clothes and the only problem was that the filter was about four inches thick with lint, i also went to install a dryer, the home owner said a technician from the insurance company said the parts were not avaliable for the dryer so they send her a new one, they send me to install the new dryer but i was curious as this dryer was a whirlpool, one of the most popular with all the technicians myself included, this is by far one of the easiest dryers to repair at it gives great service, it was about six years old, i have most of the parts that this dryer use on my truck, i ask the home owner if the technician said exactly what part was no longer avaliable, she said no,anyway after i install the new dryer i went outside to make sure it was venting properly, i found a birds nest and a lot of trash and lint blocking the vent, nothing was wrong with the old dryer, just blocked vent

always check the outside first if the dryer is taking a long time to dry the clothes

if you live in areas that get heavy snow and the vent is close to the ground make sure it is clear before you start to use the dryer, also after heavy rain or flooding make sure there is no water in the vent hose that can also block the vent.

When my old dryer broke, my son and I took it apart. We could see what was wrong with it: the drive belt had broken. But then we couldn't put it together again.
