Value investing is when you buy stocks or securities at a low price based on fundamental analysis. Buying and holding of stock is a long term investment, earning mostly on dividends and growth of the company. However, one has to be careful and always monitor the company he or she has invested in.

Lastly, the third way to earn from the market is by buying and selling stocks. This is a short term strategy based on buying low priced stocks then selling them when their price goes up again. Here, analysis is extremely important because it would be hard to predict if an under priced stock will go up again.
