Blogs or hubs may be transformed into cash machines to earn money using google adsense, Kontera, eBay and Amazon and earning ongoing royalty from hubpages. Hubs are similar to blogs but differ in some respect from blogs. I am not going indetails how hubs differs from blogs. However, experience earned at hubpages will help to earn from blogs on other sites. Hence, I will focus in this article only on hubs.

Patience

You need to have patience and wait and watch for sometime. You have to make yourself familiar with several means of improving visibility of your hubs at hubpages and on net. Forums are very useful platform to learn how the experienced bloggers or hubbers are earning huge money using their hubs. Don't get disappointed if your earnings are less or negligible in the begining. In my case, I earned only $0.3 to 0.4 in the first 2-3 months. I can not claim that I am earning great but considering my other engagements and time devoted, I can say that my progress is more than satisfactory. At present, I am earning approx. $ 100 PM from hubpages alone and my target is to double it within few months. Best hubbers are earning between $200 to $4000 PM from Hubs alone.

Hub design and traffic management

Before proceeding further I'll advise new hubbers to visit helppage of hubpages. There are several ways to earn money in hubpages but pre-requisite to this is how much traffic is diverted to your hub or blog. Most important thing to drive traffic to your hubs is the content, design and layout of your hubs. Its really difficult to say which topic will divert more traffic and which will attract less. One has to learn it by experience. I had consistent traffic of about 500 page views per day but traffic increased enormously when I grabbed the opportunity and published a hub on 6 pay commission reports recently.  I have to work hard and present the recommendations in brief and in a very clear cut way. There is problem of plagiarism. When I published this hub, within few hours this hub was copied and paste on several sites by few hubbers. I don't want to disclose their names here but just point out the problems. I have to modify my hub to keep it updated.You will be surprised to learn that one Indian hubber attracted about 35000 visitors within a month. His target audience was teaching community. Sice he had knowledge of their working conditions and was well aware of their problems, he highlighted their problems. That hub has become so lively that more than 1200 comments were made on thiat hub.  If your hubs are designed well, rich in content and have all page elements or components it will be ranked higher by the hubpages. You must add all page elements (termed capsules) like photo, link, comments, revenue capsules etc. If you use spell check it will also help improving your hub score. Publishing a hub

Never be in hurry to publish a hub. If earning money is your objective, take advantage of newly introduced hub feature i.e. "hub metrics" under the menu "Hub statistics". It helps in several ways. Word count will help you to know whether your hub is short in content or optimum. Generally a word count between 800 to 1000 words is good for a good quality hub. You can use this feature if you edit your hub atleast 2-3 times before publishing. Revenue potential is useful indication for keyword quality. If revenue potential exhibits between $$$ to $$$$$, it shows that you may earn handsome amount of money from this hub if you publicize this hub properly. One more secret about the initial high hubscore:hub score improves gradually if you keep your hub unpublished for few days and revise it atleast 10-15 times. Reason: These revisions are counted as visit to the hubs. Don't disclose it to anyone or discuss it at forums. This is a reward for revision done.

Links

you must also add links to all your other hubpages so that if a visitor comes to your hubpages he should get interesting links otherwise he will close the window and will get back. When your hubs become old try to insert some more information and modify title of your hub to match the content. If you try to improve your hubs time and again there are chances that search engines will improve your page rankings and more visitors will visit your pages. Also try some new tags which are easy and simple.

Traffic

There are some sites that can help you for traffic problems. Submit your site to MSN, Yahoo and social book mark sites. You can join some social bookmark sites, communities or forums to popularize your hubpages so that page views are increased. I am giving here few tips to keep your traffic inflow continue:

Step 1. Publish your hub only after you have provided enough content (500-1200 words, 2-3 videos, 2-3 photographs, links to other hubs, news feed, about 4-5 products of Amazon or eBay if possible)

Step 2. Insert text links to 2-3 good sites this will help improving your page's ranking to search engines

Step 3. Bookmark your hubs with del.ico.us, mixx.com, digg.com, bloglog etc.

Step 4. Submit your hub's URL to msn.com

Step 5. Subscribe to your own RSS feed using blogline, yahoo, and google

Step 6. Write on other plateforms like blogger, squidoo and wordpress and provide links to your hubs.

Submit the site to social bookmark sites

Best way to get more traffic is to submit your hubs to search engines like Google or MSN or get your pages bookmarked to social bookmark sites. del.icio.us and digg and mixx are my favorite sites. You get instant results if you submit your story in an impressive way to digg or mixx. You should know the URL of your hubpages to submit your hub to social bookmark site. It is a tedious task to submit your hubpages manually to different social bookmark sites. Best way to do this is to join these sites first and then share your hubs by clicking "share it" tab.

Auto submission

onlywire can do it for you and addyour site to atleast some 20 sites but you have to provide your login information related to those site. Using one bookmarklet it will bookmark your page with the sites listed below. Hence, one should signup with these services before signing up with onlywire.

High hub score

Visit hubbers having > 90 score and research the content of their hubs, topics on which they have written and most importantly visit their hubs which are given more than 90 score. This will help you to learn tactics of writing successfull hubs. Also look for new requests and answer them writing hubs if you have gathered enough information. Most important of all keep updating your hubs regularly.Next thing is sources of revenue in hubpages?

Sources of revenue

You can add google adsense and Amazon as revenue capsule with your hubpage. You can register yourself as a publisher with Google adsense and Amazon by clicking at affiliate settings in the right corner of your hubpage. After you become publisher or affiliate of these two advertisers, Google adsense will display google ads on your page and you will get commision when a visitor clicks on the google ads. There is also some revenue from impressions but negligible. You must not click yourself on google ads displayed on your hubpages as it will be detected by google and your account may be banned. However, you can click ads displayed on other hubbers pages if you are really interested in some products or browsing displayed google ads. You don't loose anything by clicking on other hubber's pages. Mostly people understand that if you click on ads displayed on someone else's blog he will get benefits of it. What's wrong with it? It is human nature if we can not take benefit of something why should we allow others but we should not be so selfish or jealous by not clicking ads which could be important for us for enriching our knowledge or for for some other use. But remember not to click ads displayed either on your hubs or others who have signed under you as your adsense Id is displayed for a fix time on hubbers signed under you.

You may find it little bit difficult to display Amazon products on your hubpages. When you try to add Amazon revenue capsule and searches keywords orproducts for display, mind it searching key words will be restricted to keywords listed in the title of hub page. Hence you have to select related keywords from title of hub or relevant keywords from text possibly to match Amazon products. Your share of revenue will be limited to those clicks which are converted to purchase of a product by a customer from Amazon.

Royalty

Hubpages will also pay you if you invite your friends to hubpages and they write hubs at hubpages. You are elegible for some share out of their income. You can do it by sending invitation to your friends directly from hubpages or by pasting referral tracking link as your signature. Unfortunately, there is no provision of pasting HTML code of other advertisers in the hubpages.
