How to Make Chocolate Fudge
59Previously a family recipe, I have chosen to broadcast this lovely, tasty chocolate fudge recipe for everyone to enjoy. Better than it's taste is the fact that this fudge is made using a bowl, an 8 inch by 8 inch pan and one spoon. This means it is easy!
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ 12 oz. bags of chocolate chips
- 1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon salt
Place chocolate chips and condensed milk into a microwave-safe bowl and cook on high for one minute thirty seconds.
Stir in vanilla and salt.
Cook mixture for an additional minute and thirty seconds. Stir.
Butter an 8x8 pan, then line the pan with wax paper. Pour the contents of the bowl into the paper lined pan.
Cool the fudge in the fridge for 30 minutes. Enjoy!
Variations:
Additional ingredient options are limited only by your imagination, tastes, or flavor preferences. Some options include:
Mixing chocolate chips with peanut butter chips in the proper proportions, instant peanut butter fudge!
Stir in walnuts, almonds, cashews, peanuts, or pecan bits for a little crunch.
Use this fudge to coat donuts, pretzels, fruits of many kinds, or even as icing for a cake.
This recipe is best used to salve bruised egos, hurt feelings, or as a cheap treat at an office party! It's also perfect while still somewhat warm as a human icing. ;)
{{The above statement was a joke, food should never replace happiness, but be enjoyed for what it is. In this case, this fudge is a classic treat in my household, and I hope you all enjoy it!}}
The One Pot Chef.. hilarious!

Actually does sound easy. I will have to try this one, even though it doesn't sound like fudge as much as pure chocolate heaven.
Absolutely, it is chocolate heaven. My mother used to make this for the family once a month or so, and I'll tell you what, I've never had better fudge in my entire life.
Sounds yummy. Thanks for the recipe.
Yummy yummy that sounds so tasty
Thank you very much
Yummy for my tummy. Probably bad for my heart. Who cares?
I knew I should have joined your fan club, when I did you greet me with a fabulous Sweet.
Thank you
Have a great New Year and a better 2008
I have this same recipe. It was given to me years ago from my mother-in-law. I don't know where she got it but I do have to agree with you gamergirl it is the best fudge ever.
Aww thanks, Mr!
Dottie: My mother guarded this recipe all through my childhood, but now that I'm grown and out of her house I get to take it with me. I am glad to share this amazing recipe with the world. :)
Looks like hopeless cooks like me can do this yum thing! Will do it Jan 1! You are a 'sweet'heart for sharing this recipe, Charlotte!
Well thanks, 'sugar'!
Charlotte, I'm going to pretend that I didn't read this hub ;-) (esp that picture...)
I keep pretending I didn't write it either, because now I'm trying to lose weight and this is definitely only a treat for my 'cheater' days!
Bear in mind, you CAN enjoy this fudge if you are dieting, just the same as any other sugary treat. You should always mind your portion control when eating sweets! I will be editing the hub to include low-fat ingredient possibilities as soon as possible. :D
MMMM... fudge!! This is one of my favorite parts about going camping. There's a fudge shop nearby and we always bring some home.
Yum! I can't wait to try this out.
