easy strawberry recipes for fresh or frozen strawberries
70I came up with this strawberry pie recipe a few summers ago. A friend of mine who hated strawberries tried a small slice and ate half of the pie by the end of the evening. I hope you like it. This pie is easy to make with simple ingredients.
1 package of Pilsbury's refrigerated pie crust.
2 1/2 cups of sliced strawberries
1/2 cup of grenadine drink mix
3 Tblsp of dry Tapioca pudding mix
1 Tblsp of cold cubed butter
1/3 cup of milk, Lactaid or soy milk
4 teasp of granulated sugar
First you want to preset your oven for 350 degrees. Then combine the grenadine and tapioca. Mix well and pour over strawberries, folding the mixture till the berries are well coated. Let set for about 15 min. While waiting line the bottom of a large pie plate, using 1 of the Pilsbury premade pie crusts. Avoid trapping air between the dough and the plate. Mound the berry mixture inside the prepared pie plate. Dot the top of the berries evenly with the cubed butter. With the last Pilsbury premade pie dough you can either rest it on top of the berries, pinch the edges together and slit 3 wholes at the top for ventilation, or you can get creative with lattice tops or use cookie cutouts to create a theme for your dessert. After adding the final crust, brush it thoroughly with the milk. Then sprinkle the sugar over the crust to add a bit of sweet sparkle. In the center of the oven place your pie and bake for 30-40 min. Alow to cool before serving.
This is one of my favorite recipes. I would love to hear from anyone who tries it. Thank you :)

I love strawberries, thanks for the recipe.
I have never used tapioca in a fruit pie recipe. I'll have to try that. Thanks for posting.
