Easy Quick Weight Loss Program For the Traveler
59Easy Quick Weight Loss Program for the Roadrunner
How to stick to your weight loss program when you are on the go
Do you sometimes feel like the Roadrunner – that desert creature scurrying to & fro through the countryside? Traveling through the airways or around the neighborhood, you don’t have to ditch your healthy eating habits or your weight loss program simply because you are busy.
Actually, eating healthy foods is even more essential when you have jam-packed schedule. If you have a nutritious diet, you will be able to weather the stress more effectively.
Here are a few good tips to keep in mind as you travel about:
At a restaurant, its sometimes hard to resist the beckoning menu, the nice atmosphere, and generous servings. You don’t have to eat the entire portion, though. Take some home in a take-out box for the next day. It’s good to treat yourself to a good restaurant meal now and then but make smart choices, especially if you are traveling and must eat out for several days.
Airports can cause anxiety or boredom, and these emotions can spike your appetite, especially with all the tempting restaurants that line the walls. But don’t dump your good eating habits, and don’t eat unless you are hungry. Browse a bookstore to relieve some stress. If you are bored, challenge yourself to a crossword puzzle, or search for the perfect souvenir for a friend.
Driving in your car all day doing errands can cause you to skip lunch. Rather than bingeing later, plan ahead and keep some healthful snacks in your car. Pretzels, energy bars, a small cooler with some fruit or low-fat cheese are some ideas to keep in mind.
At home, you may be rushing in the morning to get out of the house on time. But do not skip breakfast, that most important meal. Eat some whole grain cereal with fruit, or a breakfast smoothie. You will thank yourself throughout the day because a good breakfast will keep your energy stable.
Whenever you are road-running make it a point to choose your food wisely. This usually means planning ahead in some way so that you don’t end up overeating or buying junk food. This is a wise part of an easy weight loss program. You will be glad you did – you will feel great physically and mentally.
