Easy Way to Make Money On eBay - How to Make Money On eBay Without Selling

In this hub I'm going to share with you a dead simple, easy way to make money on eBay that put an extra $405.63 in my pocket with no investment other than the time it took me to set the project up. But before I do, I want to ask you something. Did you know that more than 750,000 people make their living on eBay? It's true and some of these people earn a million dollars or more every year. However, many new sellers are finding it harder and harder to make a profit using the "traditional" eBay business model - running auctions. However, as I stated in the beginning, I'm going to give you an easy way to make money on eBay... one that has nothing to do with running auctions.

I know it sounds like the title of some internet marketing guru's "how to" book, but you really can make money on eBay without selling, without running any auctions or sourcing any inventory. How? Through eBay's affiliate program run by eBay Partner Network(EPN). Through EPN, eBay pays out millions of dollars each month to its affiliates just for sending traffic to eBay websites around the world. As an eBay affiliate you get paid for (1) sending new confirmed registered users (ACRU's) to eBay who bid on items listed for auction on eBay; and (2) sending existing eBay shoppers to the site who buy items listed for sale. For the eBay US program you receive at least $25 per ACRU you send to eBay (the new shopper must register, confirm their registration and bid on an auction within 30 days) and/or 50 to 75 percent of the total winning bid revenue generated.

You can apply for the eBay affiliate program through your blog, website or your HubPages account. Once you're approved you can easily add the code from one of several eBay tools to your blog or website. Hubbers can do this by adding an eBay module together with their campaign ID to pull live auction content to their hubs. Now I'm going to walk you through the simple affiliate marketing tactic I used to make easy money on eBay and reveal how you can put it to use to make money on eBay without selling a thing.

Here's an overview of a 6 step, simple affiliate marketing tactic you can use to make easy money as an eBay affiliate that does NOT require any money to get started:

1. You will need to sign up for an account with Blogger, HubPages and Squidoo if you don't already have one;
2. Go to eBay Pulse, check out what's hot (in terms of number of searches) under Popular Searches;
3. Choose a popular search item from all categories or dig a little deeper through the individual categories - it will be well worth the effort. Check out the auction activity for your item - this will give you some keyword ideas and a sense of the dollar value of the auctions (tip: focus on higher dollar value items);
4. Run your keywords through these free but powerful online tools - Google External Keyword Tool and Wordtracker's GTrends Tool. These tools will give you an estimate of the daily and monthly searches for your keywords (tip: look for keywords that have 25,000 competing pages or less when optimized [in quotation marks] and getting 50 searches per day, but no less than 20-25 searches per day;
5. Copy & paste the keywords you want to target into LensInspector, then create a Hub and/or Lens using the keyword as the URL for the page. Manually do the same with Blogger;
6. Create content for these platforms, add your eBay affiliate links, link these platforms together, ping each URL with Pingoat and social bookmark them when you first publish them or update them.

This simple affiliate marketing tactic works. I used it to make an extra $405.63 over a 35 day period (during the Christmas shopping season) [Disclosure: for my project, I used different tools for Step. 4 - I used NicheInspector and GTrendsMadeEasy]. I invested no money in this project and I did all the work involved in less than a day. I see no reason why you can't use this method to make easy money on eBay without selling a thing.

Bonus tip: Timing, the niche you select and the level of interest you have in the niche can have a huge impact on your results. I chose a niche that had a hot product that I, as a consumer, was very interested in buying as a Christmas present. That made it very easy, not to mention fun creating content for this project. Also, I would have had better results if this project was ready to roll in October instead of the end of November.

Do the research ... pick your niche (added bonus tip: start researching your niche as early as possible, so you can have your project ready to roll in October. Also, choose a profitable niche with a high sell through rate, but make sure you're passionate about it or least have a strong interest in it) ... do your keyword research ...set up your HubPage, Blogger blog and Squidoo lens ... create your content and link all of your platforms together and send traffic to these pages using EzineArticles. Then promote your pages using social bookmarking and Pingoat or Ping-O-Matic. Then get paid.
