eCigarette No Tar Substitute

Technology Brings Hope to Smokers

As a recent non-smoker after decades of enjoying my cancer sticks, the daily struggle of not lighting up is torture. It doesn't help that my social circle is filled with fellow smokers, non of whom have seen fit to jump on the quit wagon with me yet, nor would I ask them to. The hardest part of quitting for me is the habit, not the addiction. I don't feel the need to smoke until I find myself in a situation where I would have smoked before or doing activities I usually combine with smoking.

Trust me when I say patches, gum, pills and support groups do not work with this particular problem. The thing about smoking is that it is a social thing, and most smokers never really want to quit, even when they are in the process of it. I have often thought I would love to find a substitute that was the same size, shape, and process of a real cigarette, smoke included, as an acceptable substitute. Guess what? someone seems to have done that.

Introducing the eCigarette. All of the nicotine and none of the tar, arsenic, carcinogens and secondhand smoke. It seems to have been carefully designed to be as slim and light as a real cigarette, complete with glowing ember on the end and fake "smoke" to exhale. At $200 it may seem like a lot, but think of it this way: $200 is roughly 50 packs of cigarettes at average cigarette prices. I smoked 10 packs a week or more up until a month ago. That's a lot of butts!

The manufacturer of this potentially life saving, habit saving device is Golden Dragon, out of China. The eCigarette is battery powered, and uses a tab-based delivery system to create the vapor and deliver the nicotine. I'm not sure if they are going to offer the eCigarette in different taste levels (methol, light, medium, etc) as well or not, we'll have to wait and see. Just about the only thing that makes this odd is the wierd cigarette holder looking thing on the end, but I suppose if it's a choice between giving your self or those around you cancer or looking affected, I'd pick the dorky cigarette holder.

eCigarettes are currently available in China, Turkey, and other parts of Europe, but are not yet available here in the United States.

Great minds think alike. I quit about 2 months ago without any of the patches, gum etc. also. You are correct, they do not work and if people think they do work, they do not know themselves. You made yourself quit people, not the gadgets. All the gadgets may have done is boost your awareness of your own power within yourself to quit. All in all, good on everyone who quit, no matter how you did it.

You are correct on the times in which the cigarette craving creep up on you, like now, while I type on the computer, wake up, before I sleep, or just blink. The e-cigarette might be interesting although I have cut off most relations to my smoking habit and picking up a stick may make me buy the real thing. Hmmm.

I got my ecigarette from http://www.e-cig.org and I love it. It works great. I have been smoking for 13 years and have tried to quit many times. All failed, but since I have started to use the ecigarette, I have not had one cigarette. It acts alot like a regular smoke which helps me with the withdrawal. I recommend them.
