How to Use Emails In Your Internet Marketing Campaigns For Success.

Email Marketing is still the most successful form of internet marketing in spite of the advent of blogs, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. But there is still great ignorance as to the correct and best way to use it, what for instance are the do’s and don’t’s of email marketing, when to send emails and what to send, what is spam and what are the consequences of spam abuse. If you are interested in finding out about all of these, then read on.

What are the Do’s and Don’ts? The first don’t is sending emails to a list that is purchased and for which you have no affiliation. The exception to this is that you were given the list by your up-line and the list has given permission to you to market to them. The second don’t is to market to a list (even if owned by you) that has not been marketed to for more than six months. Again the exception is to be given permission by them to resume the marketing. Violation of these don’ts are considered spam.

The first Do’s are that you should compile your list using an ‘opt-in’ process using a single or double opt-in approach from a lead capture page. The lead capture page can either be created by yourself or your affiliate. Leads captured this way are more credible and more likely to be converted into customers or recruits. These do’s and don’ts are important because in the long run you can lose your email account for spamming, your web site address can be black-listed and blocked on the internet and your emails will not be opened when you spam. Purchasing leads are also very expensive.

When sending emails to prospects, you must first make sure why they are getting them - make sure you connect the email to the topic that first got them onto your list. Your emails must first and always give value to the readers specific area and topic of interest. Also decide what action you would like them to take after reading the email - whether it is viewing more valuable information on another website or blog, etc.

In cannot be over-emphasized that you must make sure that they know why they are getting your emails - how did they get onto your list? What was the main subject of your lead capture page? These questions and the answers concerning these must be uppermost in your mind. The subject of your email must be relevant as more than five times the amount of readers will read the headline and decide whether they will continue reading it or not.

When you write your emails introduce yourself and convey that you are here to offer assistance. Indicate that you are here to offer solutions to their challenges and that you also wish to provide more insight and information on the subject matter. You can use the email to propose their participation in live or recorded events related to the subject and/or resources or tools that may be useful to their cause.

Your objective then is to build a relationship with your reader, providing value so that they will come to know and trust you. They will then open your emails when you send them, being more interested in what you have to offer and wanting to work with you. Traffic will then increase to your content and you can then prepare your readers for recruitment and the selling of your products and services.

So to summarize the following should be the strategy of your email campaign:-

1. You must think of them first, providing them with valuable content on their subject of interest.

2. You should then think of what you are trying to accomplish.

3. Your emails then should start slow remembering that it’s a courtship where trust is being built.

4. You should attempt to have them connect back with you by your third or fourth email.

5. By your fifth and sixth email you can now place offers before your readers because by this time you will have won their trust if they have not un-subscribed.
