Can you really make a living working at home?

All my life I have been doing diiferent jobs. I starting working at the age of 16, Doing little jobs here there. I worked through college and got a really good job working for the state of California after college. I never had to worry about money, until I was laid off and had to go on unemployment for the first time. I got behind on my credit card and some other bills. At that moment you will take any job that comes along in order to pay off your bill. I lived pay check to pay check with little or no money at all after paying rent and other bills. I was tired of that lifestyle that was taking me nowhere fast. I was willing to take any chance I could if it could improve my lifestyle.

One day a friend of mind asked me if I had ever thought about working at home. My first response was, "come on man, nobody wants to be employed at home". But after a while, my friend started talking about all the benefits of employment at home and how much money he makes a year, I wanted to know more. So I decided to do my own research on the topic of working at home. I came across many people who are currently working at home and the majority of them share similar stories like mind. My favorite story is of one lady, who had to make a decision of whether she was going pay for gas or eat decent food. She choice to pay for gas because she needed to work and basically lived off of potatoes and water for about five or six month until she could afford to pay for better food. Currently She is making a very good living by working at home. You can find similar stories like this all over the internet and different magazine publications dedicated to home employment.

My current situation is not as dramatic as the above story, but the key is to start somewhere if the opportunity presents it self to you. After I did my research, I said to myself, "if other people can do it, why not me". So I decided to give this work at home thing a try. I decided to give it a try, but start off small because of my very limited budget. I am still keeping my day job for now! but the way things are going I will be able to quit my day job in about another year or maybe not because I enjoy doing my current day time job. Let's just say, my home income will surpass my day job income in about five more months. The good thing about doing both things for me personally is that I can pay off all my bill and buy food with my day job. Then I have enough money from working at home to save in the bank account and have fun during the weekends without having to worry about having enough money. It might sound silly but I really enjoy my weekends now! I am so glad I decided to take that chance and start working at home, it's really been a blessing.

Hopefully, One day I can come back and do a follow up story to how my life is going with this adventure in the world of working at home.
