The state of freedom and acknowledgment enjoyed by women today should have been given by birth, but such freedom and acknowledgment has been earned through the years with continuous struggle. However, the kind of stereotyping that women suffered still persisted despite of the long struggle, and with the coming of the new milllenium there are still some situations where women's health has been highly neglected.
The state of health and the mindset towards women's health should be approached to the utmost concern as it is life what we are talkng about. Women are then empowered to be concerned on themselves through information and detailed description on how good health can be achieved to be able to perform more on her resposibilities as a mother, a citizen and as her very own self.
Most often the issues that women often shy about their health concerns more of the reproductive and sexual aspects. Women's medical specialists often mention that even to themselves, women shy about discussing sexual health.
Therefore, a more open-minded approach to women's health is the key to defining a healthy woman and society. The change of mindset should be done now to empower women's health.
Women's Health and related health problems
When it comes to women's health, women are often particular to weightloss or to diseases and conditions contrary to the hesitations when reproductive or sexual health is concerned. It is however, these diseases that are set aside becomes the most neglected and unaddressed health conditions.
Abnormal vaginal bleeding. Having menstuation is often the most common reason why a woman bleeds. Nonetheless, there are situations when it is otherwise. Vaginal bleeding should be attended with immediate concern when it happens.Conditions that are recognized as abnormal vaginal bleeding are when you are not expecting your period or when your period is lighter or heavier than it used to be.
Less or more than ordinary
Heavy Periods. Menorrghia is the term used to describe prolonged or excessive bleeding during menstruation. On the otherhand, for periods that are both heavy and prolonged. The condition is also known as hypermenorrhea.
Symptoms
- Menstrual flow that includes large blood clots
- Heavy menstrual flow that interferes with your regular lifestyle
- Constant pain in your lower abdomen during menstrual periods
- Tiredness, fatigue or shortness of breath (symptoms of anemia)
Common Causes of heavy periods
With some of the symptoms mentioned, the common causes of abnormal heavy periods are uterine fibroids, hormonal imbalance, dysfuncion of the ovaries and pregnancy complications.
Uterine Fibroids. Uterine Fibroids are non cancerous growth of the uterus. This are often not dangerous and appears during the child-bearing years. Uterine fibroids aren't associated with an increased risk of uterine cancer and almost never develop into cancer.
Hormonal Imbalance. Emotional discomfort can cause heavier period than you used to have. This creates hormonal imbalance in the body.
Dysfunction of the ovaries. Dystunction of the ovaries can have varying degree depending on the intensity of the complications. It is best that you consult your doctor if you are doubtful of your heavy periods.
