This is because both the incandescents, and the fluorescent type light bulbs produce green house gases, but the fluorescent light bulbs produce about twenty times there own body weight less green house gas then the incandescents do.

Not only that, the lifespan of the incandescents are much shorter then these energy saving light bulbs. The average lifespan for a incandescent light bulbs is about 1000 hours, while the average lifespan for a fluorescent is about 8000 hours. So the fluorescent type light bulbs, and the cfl light bulbs are always going to be the better choice, then the incandescents.
