The wonders of entrepreneurship

For many the term Entrepreneurship suggests starting up a business with large capital and with pooled friends as a source of network portal. In fact many would would not think a shoe-shine craft, snow shoveling, home tutorials, grass cutting, home-to-home manicure and pedicure services, and even blogging as an entrepreneurship pursuit. The more when we talk about hobbies as a source of a sparkling business idea. We tend to forget that these are the rich sources of starting out a business.  Capital and networking are now coined as one and regarded as an effective tool to make a business idea live and not the innate ideas of working it out to make a difference and do business by out of the box thinking. Yes we do need capital to start a business and important associates that would help us guide through the vital new years of our business endeavour. I am not saying that these aren't essential, yes it is. But what I am saying is, most business ideas won't stand simply because we look at the figures and not the idea, we look for whom to tap instead of what do we have to start. WE LACK THE STARTER KITS!  When I say STARTER KITS it is not about manuals or mantra's, the figure to start a business, or even the products or services you are about to sell and offer. The STARTER KIT is not about the network of people to tap. This is all about YOU.  Start up a business that starts with you!  What concept do you have that isn't available in your locality? If not what concept do you have that isn't a redo of others? What I mean by this is, Have a business with a heart. Sure looking around a magazine or website that offers franchising you would have an idea of what business you want to invest. The question is, do you really feel like investing on it? Look at the owners of Cerealicious - the first and only cereal cafe in the Philippines, they made a big hit in a country where rice is the staple food. A 100% conviction plays an important role. For me your business is an extension of you.  Turn your hobby a full-time source of income. If you like to cook why not start with it? Take for example Kian Kazemi of the Pinoy Big Brother season II participant, he starts his bent on opening a restaurant by selling sandwiches in a Persian taste when he was still a student. He didn't mind selling from classroom to classroom, more from a friend-to-friend to start up a business of his own. The important thing is, he makes his passion work for him. Anyways, the best endorsement you can get is through the word-of-mouth right?  Okay then, some of us will say "but we don't have hobbies that would work for us?". It maybe a question but not a hindrance. As I peruse the ENTREPRENEUR MAGAZINE (actually it's in the MASIGASIG the mag's special publication) December 2008 issue, I found out that even you don't have hobbies that would make you earn, you still can. I am talking about Celebrity Nails and AA Masaje @ Home where spa fanatic young entrepreneurs start up a business to what they like best and of course going to spas. So, I say make our ENTHUSIASM and EXPERIENCE to something pay us. These young entrepreneurs did not just make their enthusiasts to spas relieve themselves but it made them richer. The experience they had with the spas earns for them. Well, in just three months they've taken back their initial investment.   I believe talking about the starter kits would have made a difference when we want to engage into business. Instead of having headaches where to find capital and other staffs let's start first with ourselves.
