Some of these are applicable for hubs but not all.Hub owners need not submit to directories and all.But u can try other methods I mentioned here. .These are methods that I have found very useful myself.

1.The most important step is to submit to directories.There are a number of directories like DMOZ,ice rocket,yahoo directory and a lot of others which you can find by a google search.If u are patient enough don’t submit your url to google as a page ranking will be better if google finds your site on its own by following backlinks.if DMOZ approves your site it will automatically be listed in a number of search engines like yahoo,google,aol etc

2.add your site address to your signature in related forums and post a lot.you will get a lot of valuable back links.

3.Post answers in yahoo answers on topics related to your site and give ur page link as source.yahoo and google rate yahoo-answers very highly.

4.ask your friends and relatives to post your link on their blogs and sites.Even if u don’t get any links,they are valuable backlinks.

5.You can enroll in link exchange programmes like linkvault and a couple of others.Havent tried them.so cannot comment much.do a google search

6.DONT CREATE A PAGE FOR WHICH THERE ARE ALREADY A VERY HIGH NUMBER OF QUALITY SITES IF YOU CAN AVOID IT.check for the google page rank of a page 3 of google search result and u ll know it.

7.For hub owners---never edit ur hub within 2 days.Minimise editing as much as possible.I found a decrease in my google level after editing.This pattern is not consistent but I have my own doubts.Please give your experiences.

8.Do a blog search and find all blogs relating to your topic.ask owners to have your link.Most will be happy.For good blogs offer a reciprocal link.

9.submit to digit,stumble upon,technorati,slash dot,netscape,yahoo my web etc…they will give you the initials.

Now that is my top nine tips based on my experiences which evolved from what I have read about others experiences.There are other techniques like link baiting which I have not found much success with.
