People Are Not Designed To Be Fat!

I don’t know exactly when it began, but sometime, in the last thirty to forty years, it has become the standard, unquestionable belief that a regular diet is necessary for good health. If you do not count your calories, you will put on weight and if you do not eat the prescribed food groups, your health will suffer. This sounds very plausible until you stop long enough to realize that is not what nature prescribed for us.

A diet is not necessary to lose weight. It never has been. No diets can work permanently and if the weight loss is not permanent, what is the point? If you want to lose weight for good, then you must do what your body dictates and your body is not designed to diet.

For many hundreds of thousands of years, modern people just like us, not only survived, but thrived on a very different diet without any such requirements. Had they not been on a healthy diet, they would have perished. On the broad spectrum of history, if not common sense, people did very well until diets were introduced some thirty to forty years ago, and they have done very badly since then.

Every day we are learning of the risks and dangers of interfering with nature’s own design. We have exploited the earth’s natural resources and we have abused our environment. Climate change is our punishment and our descendants will pay dearly for that. We are beginning to pay already. It should therefore not be such a surprise to learn that since the mid twentieths century, we have experienced a similar type of intervention, by vested interests who have redesigned our diet and introduced foods which are not only bad for us, our bodies are incapable of processing them.

The evidence of this can be seen everywhere. People are growing fat and digestive problems are multiplying. A look at the shelves at your local pharmacy will confirm that. We learn that two thirds of the population is overweight, and the number is growing by the day. We hear that there is now an official epidemic of obesity. Type 2 diabetes is connected to obesity and a boom in that very dangerous disease follows close behind. Because of our wonderful advances in science, most of the deadly diseases in the past are now curable or are being treated with a lot of success. The one disease nobody seems to have an answer for is the fact that everybody seems to get fat and diets never work for long. The planet may or may not survive, but it is becoming equally questionable whether or not we will be around to find out.

By the standards and advice of today’s ‘weight problem experts’, theoretically, humankind could not have survived. We would be an extinct species by now. Of course, that could not really have happened because the food these experts want us to eat simply were not available till the twentieths century.

By now, this should at least give you some food for thought. If you hold doubts, let me point out that the diets promoted by these experts, and have been so readily accepted by the majority of people, have never undergone scientific scrutiny. No human trials have ever been conducted to prove any part of what we call a diet actually works. The diet advice we get today is based on urban myths, optimism and a strong belief that if foods look fresh and sound healthy and a feasible theory can be concocted to present it as a diet, then it must be good. Often these diets don’t even pretend to be weight reducing. We have come so far down this road, that we are ready to believe that a diet is good for its own sake.

It is tragic that this kind of mass deception can continue unabated when all it takes is a shift in perception to see what a fraud it really is. Weight problems and obesity were not common issues in the sixtieths or even the seventieths. People ate three meals a day, there was plenty of junk food around and there was no shortage of sweet products. There were also no Nutritionists or Diet Food Manufacturers. Wake up and get the solution before the cure kills you.
