Kinds of Exercises You Can Do at Work
59Many people do not exercise because they feel tired doing it. Some do exercise, they start exercising regularly for a few days and then they get busy of their work and forget all about it. However, did you know that you can do some exercise while you are at your working place? You can make a list of exercises you can do daily as you go about your tasks. Here are some of the exercises that you can do daily while you are at your working place:
Simple Exercises
- Neck extension exercise – place your hands behind your head with the fingers laced together. Push your head backward for 10 seconds as you resist with your hands. Stretch your head as far as you can in all directions. Do this five times with 5 seconds rest interval.
- Back exercise – try this exercise anytime your back feels tired. Here is how to do it. Bend over at the waist holding your legs with your hands behind the knees. Pull your stomach muscles in and attempt to straighten your back. Resist back extension with your hands and hold for 10 seconds.
- Shoulder flexion exercise– you can do this by sitting at you table and raising your arms forward until the back of your hands are touching the underside of the table in front of you. Keep your stomach muscles tight and your back straight. Attempt to push the table for 10 seconds and then relax. You can repeat doing this for several times.
- Raising legs backward exercise – Bend forward at your table and slowly raise one leg straightly as high as possible for 10 seconds. Then return to the starting position. Do this alternately with your legs.
- Hip flexion exercise – sit on your chair with your feet under the coffee table. Hold with your both hands the top of the table for stabilization. Raise one leg keeping the knee straight until the toes touch the table. Do this for 10 seconds and relax. Do this alternately with your legs.
There are many exercises that you can do or make while you are at work. Remember, if you can move a muscle even just for several minutes, you can strengthen it already. What is important is, if you do your exercise regularly, your strength and range of motion will increase. Exercise daily and be healthy.
