Gynecomastia (man boobs) is easily one of the most embarrasing condition for a man. Other than just causing widespread embarrassment in situations such as a pool or a beach, man boobs are often visible even through clothes, especially in summer. This often motivates many of the patients to take action against the growing mammary gland look-a-likes on their chests. I would tend to disagree with you one one point: not all resistance exercises affect your body's endocrine system the same way. The larger the muscle group (or the more muscles) involved, the more growth hormone you will produce. As such, multi-joint exercises like the squat and the deadlift tend to result in greater growth hormone production. Logic dictates that if a subject is producing more growth hormone, this should offset the amount of estrogen in the body (which tends to result in gynecomastia). I base this assertion on my personal experience training kids suffering from this condition.
